Warhammer Fantasy Revisited
More Middenheim
The interweb ate my first update, so here’s the restated abridged version:
- More progress on the Grand Master of the White Wolf. A little more greenstuffing to go and will then call him done and undercoat the knights.
- Been 3d printing torsos to combine with bitzbox spares for ‘rank filler’ minis to pad out the spearmen unit. They look bad but will get me above the magic 40 models for the unit.
- Found more handgunners and parts to kitbash a static mortar emplacement. army is getting shootier than initially intended but thats OK.
- Considering whether to kitbash or buy proxy Teutogens. Problem for later.
- Need to find a few proxy hunting dogs/warhounds. I see another search through boxes in my near future…
- Still need huntsmen – might press gang some of the new handgunners into a more rustic form of service?
Holy Ulric @evilstu that Grand Master conversion is epic! Also, if you want any square bases or old GW unit trays PM me, I have some from an old Fantasy Battles starter set that I’ll not likely use.
Cheers @rayzryr thanks for the offer and the compliment on the Grand Master – I’m very much out of my comfort zone with green stuff 😛 re bases I picked up a whole bunch of the laser cut MDF ones from 4ground a while back, so should be OK on that front. Thanks again though 🙂
@evilstu that greenstuff world press seems to be working really well. Greta idea for some conversion work. I missed the boat on the teutogen guard as well, really wanted them to be my ‘greatswords’, cant wait to see what you can produce.
@civilcourage if I don’t want to go to the hassle of sculpting all those cloaks my fallback option is to pick up some of these guys: https://www.norbaminiatures.com/en/empire-of-sonnstahl/110-guardia-teutona.html https://www.norbaminiatures.com/en/empire-of-sonnstahl/111-caballeros-de-la-guardia-teutona.html very much fit for purpose and reasonably priced too. My only concern is that the posing on each model is fairly similar. I may take a compromise approach of picking up some of the Norba minis linked above, adding some minor conversions and then scratchbuilding a few with the White Wolff double handed cavalry hammer (or even a few single handed for a ‘sword and board’ type option here and there) to… Read more »
@evilstu that is an awesome find, never heard of that company. You are right in that the poses are very samey, some conversion work is definitely needed.
