Use older brushes for the next bits. This technique really knackers them up.

Apply Typhus Corrosion to the metal. Don't worry about being too neat.Apply Typhus Corrosion to the metal. Don't worry about being too neat.
Once fully dry drybrush the metal with Ryza Rust. Again don't worry about being too neat. Also try to apply it thicker and lighter in different areas for a lessened uniform look.Once fully dry drybrush the metal with Ryza Rust. Again don't worry about being too neat. I then mute the flesh parts down again by giving them a light drybrush of rakarth flesh followed by an even lighter drybrush of pallid wych flesh.I then mute the flesh parts down again by giving them a light drybrush of rakarth flesh followed by an even lighter drybrush of pallid wych flesh.

I gave him a reasonably heavy wash of Agrax Earthshade.I gave him a reasonably heavy wash of Agrax Earthshade.
I then washed the tubes, fleshy parts and tongues with either Druchii Purple, Carroburg Crimson or Coelia Greenshade. I don't have any specific preference as what I use for each, I think a more random approach looks better visually. I also put Carroburg Crimson in the eye lenses. That I keep uniform across all of them. I then washed the tubes, fleshy parts and tongues with either Druchii Purple, Carroburg Crimson or Coelia Greenshade. Over the next few days I’ll be putting up a wee tutorial on how I paint plague marines.  And I can’t do that without first introducing you to our model for the series.  Everyone this is Rab.

I primed Rab with Halfords grey primer.I primed Rab with Halfords grey primer.

I finished another unit for my Death Guard. These are the first non character elites choice I’ve bought for the army. I’ll be trying them out next weekend.

I’ll be splitting this post up because the site doesn’t like it when I drop a barrage of images.

On the old site I had a Death Guard project log, I thought I’d continue it here.  This is also the 6th time I’ve tried to upload this post, so I’m going to break it up.

This is the three man easy to build plague marine box. The glue on the tufts hadn't quite dried when i took the pictures. Time for Davros himself.

I’ve tried to make Davros look a rotten and desiccated as possible. Given that most of my armies are Nurgle or undead I’ve had plenty of practice. I think I pulled it off.

Now I’ve got to figure out how to wrap them.

I painted these up for my mum’s Christmas. She’s not a gamer, but she is a massive Dr Who fan and loves wee ornamental things. She actually prefers cybermen to daleks, but I felt I could do more with the daleks.  There are lots of variations in colours, unlike the cybermen, with those I’d just be drybrushing silver.

On to the miniatures
