Games Workshop’s Wrath & Rapture Set Tears Into Reality This Weekend
December 10, 2018 by brennon
Available to pre-order this weekend, the new Wrath & Rapture Set from Games Workshop brings both Khorne and Slaanesh demons to the tabletop for use in Warhammer 40,000 and Age Of Sigmar.
The new set is compatible with both the Sci-Fi and Fantasy worlds that Games Workshop brings to the tabletop with plenty of new plastic miniatures arriving alongside the classic ones. For example, you'll see one of the new leaders above for Slaanesh, the Infernal Enrapturess. I love the style of that miniature, using a poor mortal as her literal instrument.
On the side of Khorne, you'll also find a bestial leader in Karanak, Hound Of Vengeance.
He has three chomping heads and loves chasing down wizards on the tabletop, gobbling them up and making sure that they can't cast their pesky spells anymore. I love the idea of controlling a force which is led by a beast like this rather than the traditional Herald.
Karanak leads a pack of Flesh Hounds amongst other creatures, all new sculpts themselves too. You could imagine their blood-curdling howl echoing across the plains as they chase you down.
Slaanesh is not to be outdone when it comes to four-legged creatures and the long-awaited resculpt for the Fiends Of Slaanesh has arrived.
They are looking suitably weird and wonderful, just what you'd want when it came to fielding a Slaanesh force. I like that there is that air of allure about them in the shape of their bodies and yet you know that if you got too close you'd be sliced and diced.
You'll find plenty more demons amongst the ranks of both Khorne and Slaanesh within this set but also a great series of booklets on building and playing with the force PLUS a table for creating your own demon names.
This is a great idea as it's always nice to have some background to the mighty and endless demon hordes that have no doubt been fighting for millennia within the Eye Of Terror and Realm Of Chaos.
I did at one time flirt with the idea of a demonic force as they not only look fascinating and very few people play them, but they work for both Age Of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. If anyone would like a Getting Started Set for both Khorne and Slaanesh to be added into the mix with this then let me know!

Brilliant looking hell hound’s.
Ben, when you say flirt with the idea of a demonic force I hope it wasn’t a Slaaneshi one. What have we told you about that Ben? No more demonic incursions into the office.
Se’xy ‘F’urio’us (Daemon name clearly) has been summoned.
Why are the fiends rear legs on backwards?
Allows seamless entry from both ends…
Oh Ben… stay the pure soul we know and love… leave that stuff to @warzan. 😛
Always have been, like a S&M push me pull me, hope you weren’t a fan of doctor Doolittle
@brennon surely not desired by Slaanesh .. all about the extremes
not always last time I bought them they had all the legs pointing in the right direction, I propose a movement reduction for the new ass-backwards ones as that can’t be easy to maintain speed with 50% of your legs reversed
That isn’t a tail you know …….
I really like those new Fiends of Slaanesh.
Really like the new models. Probably not an instant buy, but definitely on the sometime list. Good to see the old name generators returning
I want the harp & player
“Listen to them, the children of Slaanesh, what music they make”
