I was contemplating backing Reichbusters, but the creators themselves talked me out of it… by talking about season two.
Because I expect season two to come with revised and errata’d rules based on original backer suggestions and comments… it happened with Mythic Battles and the only way to get revised rules in print is buy more, which I don’t want to do.
So if I wait for second season of Reichbusters, I get the rules for free.
As season 2 is so far away, No worries about this. This would make a great convention game.
I’d argue that they are at least being honest about the season 2.
oh … and no, Season 2 won’t be perfect either. You’ll have to wait for any fixes in Season 3.
And so the cycle continues.
The reality is that games are never ever finished.
There is no replacement for actual people playing even with the best QA team in the world, because players tend to offer a different perspective.
To me this gives me hope the project will exist beyond the end of the current kickstarter campaign.
I know there will always be errata, but I’ve been stung twice with kickstarter and the upgrades to 1.5 rules was significant in both cases (Mythic Battles and Endure the Stars) due to revisions to cards and heavy duty card which makes the shipping expensive.
And I recently received several kickstarters and have binged in GW product this year, so I have plenty of games to paint and play in the period between reich season 1 and 2, so I can afford to wait.
I’ve yet to see a version 1 of any product that didn’t need changes to make it work.
As such I do think that if you’re looking for a stable version then you definitely need to wait for v2.0 (or at least an official update aka v1.x). Kickstarter is not the place to find such things ever. I expect both the sequel to Batman and MB:Ragnarok to be more fully formed when compared to their original versions.
And yes … there is so much choice so you can definitely find something that works for you.

Since we won’t be getting this KS for another year, I can’t get too worked up about painting. The ardor kinda cools when stretched that long.
And since these are experimental, shouldn’t the armour be primer red like that red Tiger I? Camo seems out of place stomping around in a castle or cave. Well to me at least. Same goes for weathering.
