4Ground Takes Refuge In Their New Barn & Stable Terrain
November 23, 2018 by brennon
The team from 4Ground continue to work on a range of new terrain pieces which would be great for games like Dead Man's Hand AND something more modern like The Walking Dead: All Out War.
The two new terrain kits that are available from the team are a Barn & Stable. These are big open kits which would be perfect for those seeking refuge and of course for anyone who wants to rustle up some horses to sell on the black market.
This stuff looks great, in true 4Ground style, and is full of lots of narrative elements which are going to be picked up on. As well as some of the windows and doors to peek out from you've got those lower roofs to run over and such as well.
I've been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption II this week and so a terrain piece like this has really caught my attention. I can see it being good for a zombie invasion but when it comes down to it this is a perfect place for a Wild West shootout.
What do you make of these new buildings?

Very walking dead just fill the barn with zombies.
Do the buildings open up? With such large terrain a lot of the game could well happen inside.
I’d expect so. 4Ground’s stuff usually does.
One of the pics on the 4Ground site shows that the white building does so would assume both do as usual with their kits.
Really cool.
Anyone has suggestions for 28mm horses to go with it? Warlord has a nice farm animal set but no horses…
Most 28mm horses come molded with saddles , so not that great for a herd or barn full for someone to rustle . Warlord do have one in metal in one of their older blister packs ( comes with 2 cows IRC ) . Rubicon , the 28mm tank guys are showing some CAD for horses , but I have a feeling they’ll be German / Cossack Cavalry or draw horses for Artillery pieces . I’ve seen some small soft plastic horses in bags ( toy section / birthday cake decorations ) at the Dollar Store , never thought to… Read more »
thanks for the tip @a27cromwell. Just checked out the blister from Warlord. Could be useful although it ends up being pretty expensive to fill up the stable…
I can’t find a link to them on Warlord’s site, but a few years ago I bought a bunch of sprues from Wargames Factory that had 28mm plastic horses with no saddles.
There’s a few 28mm old west games that will benefit from this, without a doubt. I hope they continue to expand this range beyond this set. I’d love to see the interiors as well, because I’ve been putting together some of their larger kits (the big tower, for instance) and it’s amazing the detail on the inside. Takes a special person to put that much love in CAD. =)
