About the Project

I want to present my project for Space Hulk: Raid on Namekh-48. A great exterminators force of the Deathwing assaults an orbital facility on the planet Namekh-48. The workers at the station have gone mad, and now they are brood brothers fanatically loyal to a genestealer cult that has taken root for years. The exterminators will have to face a lot of alien monstrosities, crazed humans and hybrids of both. What important matter will have caused the attack of such a large force of the Dark Angels led by Azrael himself?

The orbital mining facilities of Namekh-48 were once prosperous and productive, but today they are just an industrial dump totally collapsed by scrap and decay. Under these layers of dirt and debris, in fact deep down in the bowels, there is an ancient evil that corrodes them: the Cult of the Masters of the Exterior Shadow.

The Cult of the Masters of the Exterior Shadow, or the Cult of the Exterior Shadow, is an ancient and rooted genestealer infection. The Imperium was unaware that the industrial structures of Namekh-48 and its working classes have been laboriously corrupted by it for centuries, although some members of the Inquisition have investigated at times (and died in all). The Cult works tirelessly to spread its genetic corruption, even to neighboring planetary systems and increase the focus of worship. In their beliefs, members of the Cult know that the Masters of the Exterior Shadow are waiting for their call from their place in the cold and unfathomable stars, and when the power of their faith will be sufficient, they will come to free them from the human yoke. In reality, these beliefs are very true, since the psychic beacon that the Patriarch generates from his throne is increasingly strong, and if nobody prevents it, it will attract the attention of the tyranid swarming fleets.

Now, without warning, the forces of the Dark Angels have initiated a massive assault of the Deathwing by boarding torpedoes. It is not known how they have discovered the infection or what motive they have to attack it with such forcefulness. The truth is that dozens of terminators fight through corridors and hangars to establish a bridgehead for the next wave of Marines. There is no mercy, all the inhabitants of Namekh-48 are crazed brood brothers or genestealer hybrids to a greater or lesser extent, and the Dark Angels are willing to exterminate all of them.

The terminators break into the facilities…

…and they are surrounded by fierce enemies!

They fight in the morgue and on the catwalks …

…and they fight in the toilets and the engine room!

But the leaders of the xenos monstrosities are grouped to throw them out. Can Deathwing set the bridgehead to continue the raid on Namekh-48?

The raid on Namekh-48 continues with the two sides confronted relentlessly. The terminators massacres hundreds of cultists, but even they themselves fall victim to the enormous amount of enemies. The main threat are the numerous purestrain genestealers, capable of destroy even a terminator if they catch him with their claws.

After a bloody combat in the Sacred Chapel, the Interrogator-Chaplain Zeruel impose himself on the hybrid creatures and place the teleportation beacons. After a bloody combat in the Sacred Chapel, the Interrogator-Chaplain Zeruel impose himself on the hybrid creatures and place the teleportation beacons.
The reinforcement squads of the Deathwing begin to teleport immediately to the facilities of Namekh-48. Finally, the cause of the attention of the Dark Angels in Namekh-48 is revealed: Among the crazed cultists they detect the presence of the fallen angel Cypher! Lord Cypher has been using the Cult of the Masters of the Outer Shadow for his mysterious machinations. When they almost had it in their hands, the fallen angel disappears and defies Deathwing once more.

The battle over Namekh-48 has lost interest for the Dark Angels, who abandon it after placing thermonuclear charges. The heart of the Cult of the Masters of the Exterior Shadow has been destroyed, but … surely all its ramifications on the nearby planets will not prosper?

After the narration of the Raid on Namekh-48, I want to explain a little how I did the scenery and the miniatures. The spacecraft is built in 5 parts that fit together. It´s built as a huge puzzle of small printed pieces with a 3d printer Anycubic i3 Mega. I spent a lot of time designing the whole ship and still more time printing the enormous quantity of pieces (I spent about 10 kg of filament). I printed them in black filament to facilitate the posterior painting with airbrush. It measures 72 x 48 inches. After the narration of the Raid on Namekh-48, I want to explain a little how I did the scenery and the miniatures. The spacecraft is built in 5 parts that fit together. The spaceship has a bridge, machinery room, detritus processing, laboratory, reactor pit, morgue, air ducts, prisons, chapel, hangar, library and even toilets!

As for the miniatures participating in the raid, most are conversions modelled and customized miniatures with different pieces.

Down, the genestealer cult characters:

-Father Sadowgloom, genestealer patriarch of the Cult of the Exterior Shadow

-Matriarch Kerran, former Callidus Assassin mutated in a genestealer hybrid by the combination of gene-infection with polymorphine

-The Abominant Urr-Kragurr, two siamese brothers united in the same body. Urr puts the size and brutality, and Kragurr the (relative) intelligence and the ability to manipulate the mining-laser.

And now the Deathwing characters:

-Azrael, Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels, in terminator armour

-The Thenebrum, shadowy librarian of the Dark Angels

-Inner circle terminators of the Deathwing and techmarine Ramiel in terminator armour

This is all, thanks for reading it. I want to thank the help of my friends Pepe, Daniel y Alberto, who aid me to create this project.
