About the Project

I recently decided to get motivated to sort out all the mini's I have, and realised that I have quite a few sci-fi minis from various companies.I decided to paint them all in such a fashion that I can use them in several settings, ie Core Space, Human Interface Nakamura Tower, etc....

No-one’s sure if this is the Major from Section 9. All is known is that she disappeared with a optic camouflage combat suit, and a black-ops project cyber-body……

Skin Tone – FoW flat flesh, AP flesh wash,  AP banshee brown high light top light with AP pale flesh.

Visor – AP  necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP ash grey high light/dry drush, AP pure red for lens points.

Hair – AP toxic boils, AP purple wash, high light/dry brush AP toxic boils.

Outfit – AP banshee brown for main with AP combat fatigues for armour. AP flesh wash for all banshee areas, & AP military shader for all combat fatigue areas. Re high light all AP flesh washed areas with AP banshee brown, top light with AP pale flesh. touch high light some of the AP miliatry shader areas with AP combat fatigues

Pouches & Strapping – AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP ash grey light dry brush/high light.

Weapons –  AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP gun metal extremely light dry brush/high light.

 

The Scrounger... or Scout

The Scrounger, or scout, depending which type of services are needed is always employed. Scrounging anything regardless  of how difficult. Just be prepared to pay ……. As a scout, she not bad, just not in the same league as the wraiths.

Hair – AP mythic orange, FoW Brown wash, AP mythic orange 2:1 FoW flat flesh highlight/dry brush.

Jacket – AP monster brown, FoW brown wash, AP monster brown dry brush, 1:1 AP monster brown + AP banshee brown high light, AP banshee brown touches for wear & tear.

Forearm guard – AP filthy cape, AP military shader, AP commando green dry brush, very light AP gun metal & dry rust for weathering

Pants – AP castle grey, FoW black wash, & pin wash for lines (I may need to go over these again)

Pouches & Strapping – AP leather brown, FoW brown wash,  AP monester dry brush.

Weapons –  AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP gun metal extremely light dry brush/high light.

Box/Trap – AP gun metal, FoW black wash, AP gun metal dry brush, AP dry rust for weathering. AP phoenix flames & FoW black for hazard markings, with AP flesh wash * dry rust for weathering

The Priest willing to offer guidance even in the “Free-zones”

I generally followed the colours from the pic of this mini, but I changed a few things.  i know this guy looks kinda dark, not sure if Im happy with him, or if he’ll be getting redone…..

Hair – AP ash uniform grey, heavy FoW blck wash, AP ash grey dry brush.

Uniform  – AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, general dungeon grey dry brush, AP mythic orange for high light areas, FoW black wash for pin wash.

Vest – AP ash grey drybrush/high light, AP mythic orange piping FoW black wash to shade.
Coat AP uniform grey dry brush, Ap mythic orange for edging/detailing, FoW black wash for lining/shading.

Pouches & Strapping – AP leather brown, FoW brown wash,  AP leather brown dry brush.

Weapons –  AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP ash grey extremely light dry brush/high light.

The Tech in a cybershell

I generally followed the colours from the pic of this mini, but I changed a few things.

white under coat

Skin Tone – AP corpse pale,  AP light tone wash, highlight with 1:1 mix of AP corpse pale & AP elven flesh.

Hair – AP demonic yellow, with flesh tone wash.

Pants – AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP ash grey & AP space ship exterior for the leg panels.

Boots & leg guards– AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash,  AP ash grey dry brush on the dark section of the pants and as a base for the leg guards. AP spaceship exterior and  AP brain matter beige highlights for the leg guards.

Armour– AP necromancer cloak base, FoW black wash. AP ash grey dry brush, AP spaceship exterior high lighting with AP brain matter beige for chest/abdo, shoulder and forearm guards. AP toxic boils AP purple wash with Ap mutant hue high light for purple strapping & lighting points on armour.

Backpack & strap– AP ash grey, FoW black wash, AP ash grey light dry brush, Ap toxic boils & Ap purple wash for counter points.

Pouches & Strapping – AP leather brown, FoW brown wash, 1:1 mix AP leather brown/AP brain matter beige dry brush. AP toxic boils & AP purple wash for main strapping, AP leather brown with FoW brown wash for holster & pouch straps.

Weapons –  AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP spaceship exterior extremely light drybrush/high light.

This is what happens when you put an AI from the digital realm into a cyberbody in the physical realm. ( this is why they don’t let Ben out of the screen very often)

I generally followed the colours from the pic of this mini, but I changed a few things.

Skin Tone – FoW flat flesh, with AP flesh tone wash. Eyes AP royal cloak, AP blue wash 1:1 Fow Black wash then highlight with AP royal cloak

Pants – AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, AP ash grey & AP lava orange for piping & panels.

Boots – AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, very light dry brush with AP ash grey.

Shirt /Coat– AP mars red base, highlighted with AP pure red.FoW black wash for the creases/lining of the coat. AP ash grey, FoW black wash, highlight with AP spaceship exterior for the panelling, AP ash grey, heavy FoW black wash, and drybrush with AP stone golem, high light with AP spaceship exterior inside & edging of the coat.

Gloves – AP ash grey, heavy FoW black wash, and drybrush AP spaceship exterior, AP royal cloak for insert on arms, dry brush with AP gun metal for fingers.

Backpack & strap– AP monster brown with FoW brown wash, dry brush AP leather brown. the buckles  AP necromancer cloak , FoW brown wash, dry brush AP leather brown.

Hand terminal – AP ash grey, heavy FoW black wash, dry brush AP dry rust on the back, dry brush/lighlight with AP spaceship exterior. the screen stipled AP royal cloak, then stipled AP poisonous cloud.

Plinth under foot – AP necromancer cloak, FoW black wash, Ap ash grey/AP spaceship exterior dry brush. AP dry rust dry brush then a light Ap gun metal dry brush. ( still not happy with that plinth thingie under foot)

So this is apparently not an easy mini to get hold of without going direct to corvus belli, the Merc TAG Pilot.

 

I made a couple of mistakes but they worked better than what I was trying to do.

Skin Tone – FoW flat flesh, with AP flesh tone wash, (this is where I F%& up) FoW Brown wash.  after it dried it gave a nice dark skin tone……. I liked it.

Pants – AP Combat fatigues, AP military shader, then dry brushed with AP venom wyrm.

Boots – AP hardened carapace with 1:1 mix of AP military shader & FoW brown wash. Dry brushed AP gun metal to give the boots a bit of an armoured look.

Shirt – AP ash grey with AP blue wash in the reccesses.

Gloves – FoW camo beige with military shader.

Head band – AP fire lizard with AP red wash

the metal ports on the arms & shirt – AP rough iron, FoW brown wash, highlight with AP gun metal.

Holster/Straps – AP monster brown with FoW brown wash.

Weapon – AP hardened carapace for main body with highlight with AP gun metal , AP oak brown for fore grip with FoW brown wash drybrush/highlight with AP werewolf fur.

Dreadlocks – AP monster brown with heavy FoW brown wash drybrush with AP werewolf fur.

Cigar – AP monster brown with heavy FoW brown wash drybrush with AP werewolf fur. AP fire lizard & AP ash grey for the end. (kinda hard to see)

So I’ve cracked out the next mini.  Is it just me, or does he look a little bit like @dignity ??

 

White undercoat

Pants – AP Troglodyte blue for the panelling AP ash grey with 1:1 water mix for shading

Boots – AP necromancer cloak, with Fow black wash, then heavy FOW brown wash fro wear & dirt on the boots ( may need another coat)

Shirt – AP combat fatigues with FoW brown wash 1:1 water mix for shading.

Combat Vest – AP banshee brown with heavy FoW brown wash, then AP werewolf fur dry brush & AP Banshee brown highlight in a couple of spots.

Helmet – AP troglodyte blue with a wash of FoW black wash, FoW brown wash & water 1:1:1 mix to dirty it up for wear & tear.

Press panels on kit – FoW white with FoW black wash & water 1:3 light wash.

I might attempt to finish a ID card on the left arm….. not sure yet.

I am NEVER going to attempt to paint the OTT symbol again (badly done on the R/shoulder) it was a pain…….. I thought it might be easy after painting 30 yellow/black lightning bolts on my Norts……..  yeah right!

So new project.

 

As stated this will be an on-going sci-fi mini listing as I go.

I will state that, NO, I haven’t done the bases yet. This is because 1) I’m crap at basing, 2) I am uncertain if I want them in a)clear bases, b) the sci-fi mdf bases (from miniature scenery that I have quite a few of) or c) a generic sci-fi base covering….. I kinda want something that will easily blend in with H.I.N.T., H.I.N.T. BABH, Core Space, and maybe Infinity ( still haven’t decided if I want to play this one, but I do like a lot of the mini’s)

 

The First few posts will be the infinity minis that I have before I start to tackle the H.I.N.T mini’s

 

Any basing suggestions would be most welcome!

1st up are 2 x Infinity mini’s

Haqqislam Hassassin’s Ayyer 1 with twin pistols, the other with a scoped assault rifle.

under coat  – AP desert yellow

Armour  – AP Banshee brown, with a dark wash, and AP Spaceship exterior drybrush

cape – FoW black wash & brown wash 1:1:1 with water heavy wash. stipled  AP werewolf fur, & AP commando green for the camo.then re-wash all the creases with the heavy wash.

Face –  highlighted with AP spaceship exterior

Lens – AP mythical orange, then AP pure red over the top.

weapons – AP hardened carapace, FoW black wash, (Pistols – AP royal cloak, AP blue wash, AP toxic mist highlight)

pouches/holsters – AP necromancer cloak with the heavy wash from the cape.

the metal braiding on the arms & legs – AP gun metal, FoW black wash, highlight AP plate mail.
