Archon’s Rampart Magnetised Modular Terrain Now Live On Kickstarter
November 13, 2018 by brennon
Archon are now live on Kickstarter with their new series of plastic terrain, Rampart, which can be assembled quickly and is magnetising friendly, making it a fantastic set for someone looking to get their hands on something modular for their gaming space.

Come and take a peek at how the terrain fits together. It's nice, simple and quick!
As you can see it is pretty simple and easy to get the terrain together when you need to play. With space being such a premium for a lot of people nowadays it's good to have terrain which can be packed away and then assembled in alternative styles, allowing those who like their skirmish games to have distinctly different landscapes with a single box of terrain.
There are two different Core Sets for you to check out at the moment. The two designs have been put together for those looking to create fantastic Sci-Fi cityscapes and also ruined landmarks from ancient eras in your Fantasy games too.
Sci-Fi Or Fantasy?
The Sci-Fi Core Set is the Eternal Cathedral...
One of the things I didn't notice until I looked a little closer was the neat extras which get included with the different sets. The big wall sections and such are commonplace but it's nice to see some cool bits like torches, gargoyles and other wall decorations which start to help add character to these pieces.
This is continued with the Fantasy set known as the Kazumi Temple Core Set.
I can see why they have included the same set of extras within this Core Set but it would have been nice for there to be some alternative pieces which could be used to top the terrain. A few more of these are added into the mix as part of the Add-Ons portion of their website but they do have a focus towards Sci-Fi rather than Fantasy.
Pledges & Stretch Goals
You can check out the Pledges that have been broken down here...
I can see both the pledge for Starters and the pledge for Wargame Club/Retail being snapped up by people as they could be great for both a small tabletop at home and also someone looking to build up a good terrain collection for their group at a store.
As with all Kickstarter campaigns, there are also some Stretch Goals online from the launch of the project.
As you can see some more of these little extra parts including statues and the like are going to be popping up which is great for creating objectives as well as adding to the terrain itself.
Make sure to check out the campaign and let us know which terrain set you go for!

I’m glad the Fantasy set is Mesoamercan themed and not Egyptian – saves me being tempted. ?
The scenery looks fabulous plus mixing up buildings will look more realistic on the tables.
It’s a shame the upgrade sprue is all intended for use with the gothic cathedral stuff, but it still looks like really good value. I’ve backed.
I’ll look forward to using the South American inspired pieces with my Secret Weapon Miniatures Tablescapes temple board!
As tempted as I am,why does the majority of sci fi seem to always be gothic and or Cathedrals…..I know 40k is dominant but….it does have magnets so that’s a step in the right right direction.
I am sorry but nice as these pieces are I will never give any more of my hard earned cash to anyone associated with Prodos.
Sadly the ‘news’ on OTT seems to be skewed towards looking like paid for previews/infomercials.
Most (if not all) of the news is actually just what we find interesting from the tabletop gaming world rather than paid promotions.
Occasionally that is different when it comes to an article like this as yes, this is someone who is advertising with us, but the vast amount of news that you see popping up each day has simply been sourced by me (and now Cass) and we talk about things we like.
Why are you promoting a company with links to previous failed KS projects? Are you getting paid to preview/promote this?
@warzan has already gone over this before and I will let him explain if needed.
Hmm – I was assuming that this comment was referring to the whole Prodos thing. I was about to say that Archon could probably be trusted with some successfully fulfilled KS projects under their belt (despite never getting any of my AvP pledge). However, I looked at two of their KS projects which were supposed to deliver Dec’17, and the comments section is full of complaints about when backers will get their stuff. Fair enough – miniature-based KS projects often have big delays, but Archon have launched two further KS projects since then, *plus* this one? That’s alarm bells ringing… Read more »
Archon is pretty much the same staff as Prodos. IIRC, The companies are even set up the same, with Jared’s relatives as owners of Archon.
Still waiting for my Empire of Men Kickstarter pledge. No feedback, reponse,or shipping-information from Archon so far. Save your money folks!
I was going to pledge for the Kazumi Temple (it really does look great and would be great for Frost Grave Ghost Archepelago) but then i saw my pledge for AVP 1st edition sitting there and collecting dust (2nd edition models don’t fit with the 1st…) and said to myself “no”… I’ll go with the Azyrite boxes from GW.
They will surely fund the project… Good luck to them anyway.
