Warlord Open The Doors On The Twelfth Doctor’s TARDIS
November 12, 2018 by dracs
Warlord have previewed their latest incarnation of the iconic TARDIS from BBC's Doctor Who.
This open-doored variant is designed after the TARDIS used by Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor.
Although the TARDIS' interior has undergone more drastic changes over the course of the show, especially since its return with Ecclestone's Ninth Doctor, the exterior has also changed slightly over the years.
However, the TARDIS retains its iconic (and outdated) outward appearance, making it as much a part of British culture as the Daleks or arguing about tea.
I have been on a real Doctor Who kick since the Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor made her debut. The show is stronger than ever and I recently picked up my first set of Warlord's Into The Time Vortex miniatures. The TARDIS is such an integral part of the show that I cannot wait to have one materialise on the tabletop.
Which TARDIS console room interior was your favourite design?

Doctor … who? #scnr I hope those “print lines” in the glass aren’t in the final product.
I don’t think those are print lines – I think it’s supposed to be frosted glass.
Could be… hard to tell…. maybe someone can take a closer look… pleaaase?
I think it’s frosted glass. If you look at photos from the series you can see the panes
Maybe it’s supposed to be that metal mesh security glass ? Police box , glass windows , gang of punks , broken glass – metal mesh windows would be harder to smash IMO
That does make sense.
Looks good for being blue police box.
Looks good could be fun sticking in the tables of other games just to weird people out.
Like in a 40k RPG and having an Arbites stumble into it mistaking it for an Arbites Call Box?
?
Time Cop’s ?
I’ve seen them crop up quite a lot during conventions. Many of the larger game tables or scene tables usually have a TARDIS there somewhere.
Slight tangent – it’s nice to see @dracs being positive about the current season; the official DW FB page is filled with people moaning about it whenever the page posts about the latest episode.
It’s sad how people are still angry over basically nothing and acting like DW is ruined.
Yeah, it’s getting rediculous; the way some of them talk you’d think ‘racism=bad’ is a controvertial message to have in a show with kids as one of its main demographics. ?
I really love the new series of Doctor Who too. I think the episodes have been fantastic, Jodie is brilliant as the Doctor and the way they’ve been telling the stories this time around not only have gravity but also hilarity.
Demons Of The Punjab was a great way to commemorate the Armistice without it being directly related to WWI and even the episode with the Spiders in Sheffield managed to hit the mark 🙂
It helps that the quality of the filming for the series has stepped up too!
Agreed, I was unsure of Jodie’s Doctor at first, but I’ve quickly warmed to her; I think provided the writing stays good we can be confident that the concept of a female Doctor is a success and we’ll see more in future regenerations.
Regarding the latest episode commemorating the Armistice, it does make me wonder if that’s why (or at least one of the reasons) the show was moved from Saturdays to Sundays, so that this episode could air on Remembrance Sunday.
I’m gonna need this!
