I've started with Killteam. Let's paint terrain and killteams!

I painted the Ad Mech starter for a second force. That said I rather like them and wish to increase my options for this team.

I bagged some Aberrants on ebay and painted a few of them. I played around with some inks on their genestealer parts and I’m quite pleased with the result.

I already had some GSC neophytes and acolytes to play this. So I used my kits to add weapon options I didn’t have done. Here’s the result.

Messing It Up

While I liked the basic look I felt it all looked a bit neat. To make it look rougher I started by getting some Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust to weather the components painted with Leadbelcher. I then added some GW Nihilahk Oxide to the brassy coloured areas. Finally I gave the raised areas a very loose drybrush with Vallejo Game Colour Dead White 72.001.

That’ll do.

I kicked off by priming the ruins we get in the Killteam box with the Light Flesh colour primer from Badger using an airbrush. After that I went over it at a 45 degree angle spraying Vallejo Model Colour 70.847 Dark Sand. The idea was to get a warmish feel to the shadows.

Next I coloured the roof panels with Vallejo Model Colour 70.904 – Dark Pale Blue.

I then painted many details on the pieces using the following colours.

Vallejo Game Air 72.758 – Brassy Brass
GW Leadbelcher
Vallejo Metal Color 77.725 Gold
Vallejo Game Colour 72.034 Bone White

Not wanting to spend too long on this I chucked some GW Agrax Earthshade all over the terrain. It streaked a bit on the roof but otherwise looked ok.
