Grimlord Games has now hit Kickstarter with their latest project, The Everrain, which sees your crew of intrepid adventurers heading out onto the high seas and braving the elements as well as dangerous creatures that dwell in the darkness.

This story-driven board game has one to four players searching for a way to stop The Everrain from engulfing the world and the dangerous diety that is behind it from finding a new way to rule over this churning new landscape.

"Players must work together to advance the player track around the board by finding ancient relics, exploring the map and launching expeditions ashore. But the enemy is also on this track, and should they advance quicker than the player then the game will become harder as the Old One stirs from its slumber."

Here's what the folks at Grimlord Games have included as part of the core box for the game.

Of course, as with any Kickstarter there are plenty of stretch goals and unlocks and the folks at Grimlord Games have managed to find a whole bunch of them already.

These unlocks show off more of the aspect of the game that we're interested in learning about in more detail. The crew is growing and the options for your explorers as they head out into the vast oceans of the world are very interesting indeed.

As well as this I can't wait to see what they do with the narrative side of the game, unveiling the story and telling a bigger tale as things progress.

Here are some of the other awesome miniatures that can be included as part of your crew.

...and some of the creatures and creepy things that you will be encountering on your travels.

I really like the Cthulu vibe to a lot of these miniatures but I think it's neat that there is also an additional tweak here and there in order to give them their own unique flavour when it comes to world building.

Of course, this hopefully means they're going to be awesome to paint too.

We actually learned more about The Everrain at SPIEL '18 this year so come and take a peek.

Make sure to check out their Kickstarter project in more detail too as it delves deeper into the various facets of the game that make it a very unique prospect.
