WizKids Announce Age Of Sigmar: The Rise & Fall Of Anvalor Board Game
October 30, 2018 by cassn
Many previous attempts to build a lasting fortification at Anvalor have failed. Its strategic location on the Great Parch, a particularly arid region of Aqshy, the Realm of Fire, is of supreme importance...Whoever can secure the new stronghold will also dominate the Great Parch, significantly strengthening their influence in all the Mortal Realms.
WizKids announced at Essen Spiel last weekend the upcoming release of their Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – The Rise & Fall of Anvalor board game. Choose between six different player factions to take on the enemies within the game. There are three enemy factions included with the base game, along with four gameplay variants to choose from.
Although your common goal with your fellow players may be to build and defend Anvalor, it is only by gathering influence and securing dominance over the city that you can truly succeed - even if it may cause the city to fall in return.
To win, you must form uneasy alliances, collect and build resources, weakening enemy and ally alike until you can deliver the killing blow and emerge victorious from the siege of Anvalor.
I personally don't wargame, but I do like games set in the world of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar (particularly the card game), so I'm excited to see a board game set in that universe. Warhammer: Age of Sigmar - The Rise & Fall of Anvalor will not be available until April 2019 sadly, but I'm looking forward to lots of sneak previews before then!
