Privateer Press Announce New Crucible Guard
October 26, 2018 by cassn
Privateer Press has released images for three more additions to their War Machine Crucible Guard faction, including one Colossal.
The Crucible Guard are the militant arm of The Order of the Golden Crucible. The faction is technologically advanced and focuses primarily on ranged and alchemy attacks.
The first of the new additions to the Guard is Eilish the Occulist. He is described as 'an arcanist, scholar, and experienced sellsword' who insists his powers are used only for the greater good, but treads a dark path.
Vulcan is the new Colossal addition for the Crucible guard, containing 'hundred-gallon vats' to unleash alchemical attacks, a 'series of dispersal nozzles along the chassis' to distribute toxic gas, an 'Aqua Mortuum rocket' which poisons the air, and 'vitriolic deflagrators' to hose down survivors with acid. That's a Colossal which certainly packs a punch.
Finally, Privateer Press have introduced the Mechanic to the battlefield. This dedicated soldier is not only trained to repair warjacks, but also for combat, and can rush to the front of the field, risking his life to repair weaponry for the Crucible Guard.
These are all cool additions to the Crucible Guard. The WWI steampunk design is pretty popular among fans, and for those of us who like 'bigger' miniatures, the Vulcan Colossal is exciting. There's no fixed date yet for the release of these new miniatures, but ardent followers of the Golden Crucible can keep an eye for more information on the Privateer Press website.
Do you like Colossals, or should miniatures stay miniature? Tell us your thoughts below!

I really like the look of the Mechanic solo. They really have hit it out f the park with the Crucible Guard in my opinion. I may have to dabble in a new faction.
a great steampunk tank ?
To me it kinda looks like a giant robot in a wheelchair
Mmm a bit perhaps.
is it just me or has the level of painting for Privateer press on the new Crucible Guard jumped up a notch?
I mean, the solo is excellent, and this new dude is amazing

Those look really good. Vulcan having wheels instead of any number of legs makes him rather unique looking among colossals.
I really like all of these they are lovely models …. I do have a “disconect” though with the name of the colossal . Why is an engine of war named after a Roman God , both the gods and the civilization didn’t and don’t exist in this fantasy world …. where the hell did they get the name from.
