Archon Ask For Your Feedback On Their Rampart Terrain Kickstarter
October 24, 2018 by dracs
Archon are preparing to launch a Kickstarter for a new range of magnetised, modular terrain called Ramparts.
Rampart is a terrain range made using pure plastic injection, with no resin components. The design is focused on allowing you to create modular, easy to assemble buildings and tabletop features in 28-30mm scale.
The plastic material makes this terrain durable and Archon are reportedly the second EU company, next to Games Workshop, to use plastic injection manufacturing for models like this.
The sets are being designed with magnet compatibility in mind, allowing you to swap out terrain to fit whatever layout your game requires easily.
You can get an idea of how they are put together at their Instagram here.
For this run of the Kickstarter, Archon have two thematic sets planned. The first is the Eternal Cathedral we have seen in the above images. The second is the Kazumi Temple, based around the ruins of indigenous South American civilisations.
Archon currently have a draft page for the Kickstarter up and are looking for community feedback. The comments section is up and running for you to go in and have your say on this terrain range.
What sort of terrain would you like to see in the Rampart range?

Glad they went with Mesoamerican rather than Egyptian – saves my wallet taking a potential hit. ?
oh nice!! need a piece of that for my Warhound base. lovely looking stuff so far
stunning looking scenery for games.
Same guys behind the Aliens vs. Predator KS — and who *still* aren’t done fulfilling yet. Or at least screwing up. : https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/7950/556916.page
Archon is currently in production with two other KS, Chronicle X and Vanguard. And they’re making the miniatures for Wild Assent.
I’ll wait for retail, thanks.
Yep, got to be careful. Not everyone on ks has integrity, sadly. Always worth checking out the history of the creator.
I thought the name looked familiar. I will avoid like the plague. Why isn’t BOW doing due diligence before posting up these ‘news’ articles?
Sure the renders do look nice. My feedback would be this is 4-5 months too late as the new GW buildings do everything they need to. Even the South American theme borrows from the GW AoS kit. What it has got going for it is hardly any skulls. The magnetic option is better in theory than practice. Yes it gives flexibility, but in all honesty that’s not something that most people really need. It also won’t be as stable as fixed pieces as the short video inadvertently shows. Other issue there is hardly any horizontal cover because of the need… Read more »

You mean apart from the Battlezones terrain Mantic created for Deadzone?
I like the different themes that Archon have incorporated here, but it’s not a new concept.
I am glad there will be a non-Gothic option. I would like to see more options such as Egyptian, Assyrian, etc. Also the possibility of several stories. I also feel that scatter terrain should be options to unlock and should complement the buildings such as vents, porticos, gargoyles….
Regardless, I am looking forward to it. Is there a date for the launch?
