Here’s the Dire Fish-Lizard from Deepwars (AntiMatter Games)  in close-up and the Hag Fish, both part of the Scaly Horde I’ve been working on last few days…

@mage : Deepwars (and Shadowsea) have rules based on A Song of Blades and Heroes. I’m still growing up my kids to have some opponents to play games with, so for now my focus is for most part on painting.
There are however a good series of video-reports on the web by Cranky Old Gamer…

e.g. Deepwars report #1 goes a bit deeper into the rules, especially for starting players.

What I like so much is the unique setting of Deepwars, models that no other game uses, the amount of colour you can bring on the table, a battleground that really pops out with all the mysterious blue… You can start a battle with only 3 models per side, so you don’t need to buy or paint an entire endless force to start playing, and all models are different. AntiMatter Games is also very open about their rules and very helpfull on their fan-site (The Abyssal Realms (Facebook)) when you’re in need.
In their currently running kickstarter they are offering 2-player starter sets for both Deepwars and Shadowsea with 3 awesome minis per side. So if you’re looking for the perfect timing to jump in or try it out…  here’s the url to their campaign:
