Get A Peek At The Options For Frostgrave’s Soldiers II Plastic Set
October 12, 2018 by brennon
Osprey Games and North Star will be bringing some new plastic models to the tabletop this week. This time around the plastic set, Frostgrave Soldiers II provides you with a range of options for making female fighters to use in your games.
The set, much like with the previous ones, provides you with plenty of body, head, and arm options for you to create characters to use in your Frostgrave warbands. You'll also find plenty of different weapons included too giving you lots of ways to mix and match with existing sets.
As you can see the bodies and heads giving you a sense of the female characters underneath the furs, which is great! They don't need to be overt and it makes sense that they are wrapped up and armoured appropriately for their perilous adventures.
You can also mix the arms and weapon options for the likes of the Soldiers I Set and the Cultists Set if you want to give them a different edge. With the Human Soldiers coming out for Oathmark too you have even more ways to use this set since the proportions work.
I think this is a great set which gives you even more components to help define your warbands.
What do you think?

Perfect for a rag tag inservent unit.
Another great looking set of figures . Just wondering , if they are female figures , why the box is not labelled female figures ? I can see problems with people ordering the figure sets on line , ” I’ll take Soldiers set I & II please “. And then being ticked off because set II isn’t exactly what they had in mind when they ordered . Seeing the box in a store or the large picture of the box in this article makes it obvious , but a half inch square picture in a web stores site is going… Read more »
They’ve done it because it shouldn’t ‘need’ to be labelled Female Soldiers. It’s just more soldiers that happen to be female.
It’s a step towards making it not such a big deal that ‘holy heck, we can make women in miniatures that aren’t in chainmail bikinis!’ and it levels the playing field.
“it levels the playing field” – or battlefield in this case 🙂
Hey @a27cromwell, It’s got a whopping big image of a female warrior on the cover so I think there won’t be any confusion. I’ve had a look at the North Star site and it shouldn’t be a problem to tell boxes apart if they use the same images sizes they currently do. After all, it seems you need to click into a product to add it to your cart and inside is a bigger image. What they and loads of other online retailers need to add is more images of there products on a page. After all, I wouldn’t make… Read more »
My guess is that given the fantasy setting they do not see an inherent assumption that armies will be all or majority male soldiers/warriors. I am not familiar with the particulars of the Frostgrave setting.
Those are very nice.
I was thinking that too. Might get some for my Fantasy army.
Apparently these can be interchanged with the human oathmark plastic box set
Yup – mentioned that in the story above 🙂
Oops, must remember, read first comment later.
Damn it, might have to get some of those too – lol
I really like this. It could be converted into a female Imperial Guard regiment. Or could be used to theme a Claymore (from the Anime) warband.
I’ve been looking forward to this set for a while. The frosgrave minis are great, they’re usuable in so many games too. I love how customisable the plastic sets are. Definitely one I shall pick up!
These are nicely done. I have a box of the male soldiers, half assembled and painted for Frostgrave. If I ever want to expand, or do another warband, I’ll definitely be picking up a set.
I have the first soldier box partly assembled (like 6-7 models) because i concentrated on my plastic barbarians but, i’ll be picking this one up too because i can mix the parts with the first box and some of my barbarians leftover (plus the metal specialist for women will fit perfectly with my barbarians too!).
From the Nickstarter they are also releasing female version of the specialists as well (thief, knight, marksman etc) in metal. So you can also add those to your warband.
