Pre-Order Bolt Action’s Next Campaign Book To Fight The Battle Of France
October 8, 2018 by dracs
Warlord has put out the latest Bolt Action campaign book for pre-order, letting you recreate the Battle Of France.
The book allows you to fight out the tumultuous conflict that saw the German army advance across France, heading towards Paris and forcing back the Allies.
The Battle of France saw German forces sweep across the Low Countries and towards Paris, crushing Allied resistance in just six weeks. From Fall Gelb and the British withdrawal from Dunkirk to the decisive Fall Rot, this new supplement for Bolt Action allows players to take command of the bitter fighting for France, and to refight the key battles of this campaign. Linked scenarios and new rules, troop types, and Theatre Selectors offer plenty of options for novice and veteran players alike.
Ordering Directly from Warlord also gains you a miniature of Captain Pierre Billotte, a legendary French tank ace known for his actions in battle for the French village of Stonne, commanding a Char B1 Bis tank nicknamed "Eure".
Is this a theatre of war you are particularly interested in gaming?
"Fight out the tumultuous conflict that saw the German army advance across France."
I have yet to take the jump into Bolt Action but this might be to cool to miss! The French theatre has always been the most fascinating to me.
nice.
I wonder if they started working on this when toofatlardies announced 1940 for chain of command. i kinda doubt that they actually compete in terms of market shares because of differing sales models but it still feels wierd to have both systems with similar releases so close to another. Maybe we live in a world where more ppl play coc but with bolt action figures and warlord wantst too.. well dunno. its just a wierd thing to happen i guess 😀
Does anyone know if this is substantially different to Warlord’s existing early war book?
Although my existing WW2 army is late war, I’d love to get into an earlier theatre of the war because of the better balance and I adore those rubbish tanks.
I prefer these Campaign books over the earlier Theatre books (the previous early war book, Germany Strikes, is a Theatre book). I mainly use these for scenarios, which, the Campaign books contain more. The campaign books are also more focused, and the scenarios link closer to each other.
Thanks that’s a great summary ??
Interesting, I know it’s unrealistic but I’m going to keep my fingers crossed for plastic Italian and French troops… aaah, one day, one day, just have to keep hoping… Regardless of the releases I’ll probably pick the book up just out of pure interest.
Geeesh. I just got my Bolt Action Second Edition “Campaign Western Desert” book and have only aquired part of my dessert armies.
I’m going with small tanks for this early part of the war. ‘Vickers VIC’ and ‘Vickers VIB’ as well as ‘Fiat-Ansaldo CV33 Tankettes’ and ‘Fiat-Ansaldo CV33 Lansciaflammes’.
I’m sure that I will be ordering the new ‘Campaign book Battle of France’
