About the Project
As part of the Space Hulk Challenge I decided to go with an Idea that I had since the Rogue Trader Box came out; To make a real Terrain peace out of the cardboard tile.

Going out on a limb
so I was thinking, using the Necromunda Tiles, to play Space Hulk. well the board makes it possible to play and move by the Rules, accepted one problem, I hate, more than everything, kill and survive mission. you just stand there with your terminators on overwatch, and whait for the horde to arrive, and then it gets so tedious just rolling the dice and feeding the canon. on the other hand am I so useless in implementing some clever mission objektive that just works on a random map. so if anybody have some idea how to implement something, please let me know.
Today I played a little
So all this talk abot Space Hulk made me want to paly some, 
and since I had this amazing doors from Kill Team: Rogue Trader I used them instead of the cardboard. The missing I played is called: Swift Destruction. Its a self made mission from: http://spacehulkmissions.blogspot.com/2011/04/quick-mission-swift-destruction.html and it’s easily my favorite. you can play it in just 15 min, if you are reckless and willing to sacrifice two or three terminators, but almost impossible to win with no casualties. And instead of playing for hours and losing because you made one mistake, you can just reset and try again in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend visiting this site, the guy who made this has a lot more to offer
And a riddle for eveyone, how many boxes had to die in order to get that many dice
So I'm kind of finish
so i thing most of it is done, im still not sure if i add something to the starry background, but for now i just tool all the terrain for it and just had some fun.
Well I glued it
I finally found the time to glue the thing down, with lots of books to keep it straight. and for now it seems like it will stay that way.
I will covering the missing part hopefully later today, and some retouching here and there. but Im not really happy with the starry background, There are some really cool tutorials on youtube how to do planets and dust clouds so maybe I give that a try.
well some more news
Used the good weather to paint outside, cut me some 3mm MDF and used some old spray paint. that was a mistake, the paint was to old and came out like a silly string can.
So I used some black paint and a paint roller to get one smooth black surface, then some white thinned with water on a big brush and just swing it like a bee was to be slain. and since I had my phone not with me there are not much photos
so I’m almost finished, but as you can see the warpige is quite strong and the hardcoad on the back site did not do much. not quite shure what to do.
For the weekend,
I finally cut out the part for the copit, stamped it and trying to catch it up to the rest of the bord.
just putting on the usual hard coat
I also soaking the underside with the hard coat to counter the warpingTime for some metal
So I spend the evening painting up the final layer. just took a dark silver, thinned it with some water an brushed it on, and there it shows the superiority of good paint, I used not more than let’s say 1/4 of the pot. I hope that Ill be able to put down some pigments later in the day, so stay tuned.
A lesson for everyone
Because the foam is so absorbent, I putting the 3rd code on. You should always use just the best you can find. Me for example, I spared no expense using this very "basic color", AKA finger paint, mixed with top of the line PVC floor sealer.
And most important never be cheap with brushes, only the best is good enough, see here my old toothbrush, doing an excellent job !Along the road
So I took some time and a hammer to beat the pattern into the fome. got the second coat of a mixture of paint and gloss varnish.
So Im really not sure...
Well first I stepped on a piece with my shoe and thought, thats an interesting pattern, and took that thought and applied it to the GW terrain, that still is in the sprue(well not anymore) I just stepped on it an well If I were a little bit heavier, it would have worked better. but sill it was not bad...
So I put it under my bed post, and jumped on it, and it worked really well. well on a piece that small, I'll ever be able to apply that kind of work to the whole ship!? Im really torn right now. the result is rally good but how I get there is still not sure. I have to lift and jump up and down the bed every time...
On we go...
I knew from the beginning that I wanted the cockpit to have a lower part, inspired by the cockpit of an star destroyer
so I cut this specific part out and was really pleased with the result
and then I thought; why not just cut out the whole ship and make it look even more 3D, so that what I did, and it was a horror. It took me forever to cut it all out, but in the end I think it was worth it, course it looks so much better
And as I was finished, and lay the cutout on the cardboard to check for errors, I saw how much I diviated from the original lines(not good to see on the photos but belive me)So we start...
So I took a sheet of foam core, and some translucent paper to trace the outlines of the walls, well it worked quite well, but later I realized who warped it all got, but spoilers. in hindsight I should have used a single piece of packing paper
So I peeled the paper from one side of the fomecore, and with the tracing paper and a needle I punched a hole in every corner, from there I took a ruler a knife and a pen and trached all the wall outlines. On the floor on my F…g knees, course my table is too messy and am too lazy to clean it up -.-
How It All Began
Well the Idea was Simple, the Bord of the Truehawkwas so amazing that I had the idea to build something better since I saw the first pictures
