Having been a long admirer of the older classic designs from Citadel and Marauder miniatures and a huge fan of all things dwarf, I recently decided to begin a collection of dwarfs to play 5th edition WHFB’s with some local gaming friends.

This has been a blast to paint and I’ve been happier to paint these old gems more than newer sculpts and the whole project had just been growing and growing.

This is the first unit I wanted to showcase as I recently finished it is the slayer unit and the Demon Slayer leading them was the first dwarf I painted which set me off on this crazed obsession for painting stunties.

    Thanks guys for your comments.

I think the imagery and Maruader slayer models sold me on wanting dwarfs more than any other unit in the Old Wolrd universe.

I was just glad that I could get 20 individual variants so that they all look different and have their own character and personality. I still have enough space to paint another 5 more which I will do when I get some more 🙂

Bugman and his rangers were the first unitni painted for my army as they are one of my all time favorite units. Especially having 20 crossbows is a must for any dwarf general. These miniatures had to be all stripped and cleaned up which took a lot of work but was worth it in the end.

Sad that they didn’t have profiles for the rangers in the 4th edition army books for dwarfs, so I just enlist them as crossbow men instead. And I’m a sucker for anything that has to be painted blue as it’s the nicest color to paint with.

The banners have been replaced with the more modern plastic banners as they are just nicer and more robust than paper banners from the old days. I tried to keep the freehand designs like the originals but Bugman’s banner is more plain than the original.

This is the back view to show the shields that I painted the freehand on them. This was again a lot of work but it pays off to see them with all their insignia and such as they wouldn’t look the same without it 🙂

Currently working on a couple of things for my dwarf army and this will be the second warmachine I’m doing for them but sadly incomplete as I’m missing a few parts to it.

if anyone has the missing parts for this in their bits box and wants to trade or donate them to me then please 🙂95CAD18F-D49C-415E-9BB8-1FD570E6F93BED64ADEC-9FCE-4D10-9278-370589FBA05A

Just finished the Norse dwarf unit from Warmonger Miniatures. These were the first unitni bought as they are currently available and Warmongers have a huge range of these Norse dwarfs that I love as I could get 20 individual sculpts to make a unit. They are the heaviest miniatures I have and the unit weighs a tonne. So that had put me off buying more. They would be perfect minis for a skirmish game. Lovely minis to paint as alll one peice and fine casting makes the details smooth.

I will point out that the female dwarf in the front rank is Helga and she isn’t from the Warmonger range and indeed an old Citadel miniature from the Grudge of Throng campaign. And the banner man is a simple conversion I made as the original banner bearer was way too big to fit on a 20mm base.

Wow these are great, such nostalgia and the paint job really does them credit. The metal effect is great…so jealous!
