@warzan – just a bit of Health and Safety; you might want to check that none of the attendees suffer from epilepsy before using those effects.
cue all round epileptic seizures, lookign forward to seeing this
boooo health and saftety 😉
Seen the lights first hand. Trust me, an epilepsy trigger is not a problem.
Couldn’t put my finger on it at first, but now that you mentioned it – it does remind me of my favourite strip club.
lol
bollox to Health and safety, better not induce/reactivate PTSD 😐
I look forward to what the Team and Ben have in store for D&D. About 7yr ago now my family and I were in CA for vacation. There was a shop offering a “professional” D&D experience. I was skeptical but I was waiting for my wife and kids to get something from Starbucks so I decided to wonder in and ask. The person doing the D&D adventure was an ex-ILM employee and they had everything. Dry ice smoke, lights, sounds and everything that was on a stage that had a rumble effect beneath the chairs and table. They even had… Read more »
That sounds utterly amazing. Well worth the money I’d say.
Ha ha well i had one song in my head when i saw all that blue light. “Blue da ba dee”

@warzan the Fluval Aquarium spotlight has huge potential for colour combinations and the storm feature really is good giving the random flashes of a true storm which could also double for artillery
As for health and safety and epilepsy get all attendees to sign a form saying they have no recollection of suffering with epilepsy and bobs your aunty job done, end of worries, youve considered it ruled it out and got written proof.
I would be more worried that your locals think the BOW towers has become a Bordello lol
Are you trying to give me PTSD @warzan?
????
Yep, and a soundtrack’s been added now, too. 😀
For me, playing a game in those lights will be fun for about 5 minutes after that it would become an annoyance to me.
@warzan, you should have a look at this guys lighting for his Spectre Ops table.

It is always fun to see the enthusiasm you have, Warren, for going the extra mile. 🙂
Philips Hue is amazing, I have most of our lighting at home done with it. I used it once for gaming effect, turning the entire room red for the Soviet turn in Flames of War. But that got a bit old after few turns 😀
The lighting look
s great, bet it look
s even better close up. You guys are gonna have a blast this weekend, have fun and wishing i was with you, but work would
t allow it.Who said who’s gone overboard. Not Justin. Well here we have one:
Saturday BoW Bootcamp conversation: “Did you see my dice roll?” ” Sorry, everything is blue. Are these your blue troops or mine?” Booommm! Flash! “Ah not again! Call the doctor!”
To be fair… In actual war it was pretty difficult to avoid friendly fire.
Philips hue is expensive but it is good and it has third party support. Check out iftt app you can link specific scenes to triggers… Another slightly more geeky option is to look into home automation projects. Some allow for scripting and all you need is a raspberry pi to run the server. Go one step further (and dive into hardware) and you can build your own lighting hardware. There was a fashion lighting kickstarter (need to find the link when in back home) that while meant for clothes can be used for this stuff. I’ve backed it because it… Read more »
Can definitely support the use of ifttt, allows you to automate a lot of stuff, not just lights. And very easy to use.
very cool idea, love it!
have you tried timers or emulators for back lighters? @warzan

Serious flashback to dorm room 1995.
love it!! Have you thought about using the LED light strips that people use for black powder games to simulate the muzzle flash at night ??? Best time I had as a GM, was running a Ravenloft game ( back in 1st and 2nd Ed D&D) by candle light for an evening,….the atmosphere truly scared the shit outs my players. The other one was running an Aliens RPG game, where when the power to the station went out ( Whatta ya mean “they” cut the power, they’re just dumb animals man !!) I had the normal lights go off and… Read more »
Looks (and sounds) even better in person!
Looking foreword to this weekend.
Narrator: War. War never changes.
Warren: *enters carrying loopy strands of LED lights* Hey mate, hold my beer…
Anyone else surprised at 4:25? Wow!
