Carla Mc Carthy
Finished this model for use in Wolsung. It is made by Scale 75 and I got it in a kickstarter as a stretch goal, so I am not sure if it is available to buy now or not. Great figure though. I also used mostly Scale 75 paints on this one.
Take Over the World!
The Bio Cognitive Golem is ready to take over the world! It I should a great kit with a wild design. Painted with metallic wax paints and acrylics.
Necro Golem build part 3
In this final entry we will look at how the arms are placed.
There was a casting flaw in the arm. There were lots of bubbles and one of the cogs was missing a tooth. To fix it I used a trick I learned years ago from a plastic modeling magazine. First I cover the rough area with a coat of CA glue. Then a spritz of zip kicker and it hardens. This is then sanded flat. If you use fine enough sandpaper, you can get it smooth as glass.
Next we work on the right arm. There were three little bits that took me a while to figure out were the fingers for this hand.
Now it is ready for painting!
Necro Golem build part 2
In this post we will build up the legs and torso.
None of this is glued yet as I will be moving the feet and legs later to try different poses.
Now let’s put the torso on.
The torso needed some small ribs glued to it. It took me a while to identify them but then I fount the two sets and figure out how the fit on.
Necro Golem Build part 1
First job is to chose a base. I decided to go with the sewer base from Secret Weapon since it has a great swimming rat!
The base I see great, but there is not enough real estate on the base so it is going to be a challenge.
Next step is to pin and glue the feet to the base. More detail in the next post.
New additions to my Inventors gang
Replaced the cast spring with one from an old ball point pen. The Sword on Luigi is a brass etched blade to replace the thick one that came on the figure.
Triad gang
Triad gang finally painted and ready for gaming. Used Vallejo airbrush paints brushed on to build up the reds. It takes about 5 coats but it is worth it.
