My 3D printing hobby by tomd
Corner building
I found this basic building, but it need a lot work. (This is typical for video game models it a bare structure with a texture over the top.)
I clean the file up in TinkerCAD to a reasonable state to be 3d printed. I desided to hollow out the inside to make playable and found the model not square. oops not a big deal.
i repair under the window and corner entrance (the corner wall was not vertical and the reinforcement i add show through at the top and bottom.) This look odd so i mirror the other side to look to even out the look.
The corner building look good enough so i sent the STL to my slicer program to print (OMG 49 hours on .20 mm course setting at 100 mm/s speed)
As the File was printing i ran though Fallout 4 on my PS4 collecting screen shot of this build. I found 2 of these across the street from each other in Forest Grove Marsh (which is west of Diamond City).
@tomd your commitment to fallout accuracy is amazing! That or its an excuse to play more fallout. How long does it take to design one of these buildings? They come out really well.
These building files are from fallout 4 video game, but there are not 3D printing ready (not even close) and this one took about 3 nights worth of tinkering to get something that might be ready to print. that 45 degrees corner was particular weak when i ran it through meshmixer.
