Motion In Poetry Head To Kickstarter With Surly Looking Trolls
September 10, 2018 by brennon
Freelance sculptor and designer, Motion In Poetry is looking to head to Kickstarter this week with a range of Trolls, Orcs and Goblins. Here's one of the teaser images they showed off over the weekend.
Motion In Poetry has sculpted for various companies but it's nice to see that a talent is being put to good use on a range completely from their vision. This Cave Troll, for example, looks fantastic, with just the right about of cartoony awesomeness to it but not so much that it detracts from the dangerous nature of its character.
This range has been bubbling away in the background for a while now and it looks superb. You might have seen some more of Motion In Poetry's work in games like Mantic's Walking Dead and Soda Pop's Super Dungeon Explore.
I think if this Troll is anything to go by we've got someone to watch in the industry here and hopefully the Kickstarter goes well!
What do you think of this surly Troll?

That is one really nice looking troll.
@mecha82 thanks, I’m happy you like it 😉
I’ve been interested in this since Motion mentioned he was going out on his own, they look excellent so far and his work for Mantic has been superb
@avernos thanks 😀 yeah it’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I’m finally taking the plunge 😀
Kawe was interested in getting in contact with you at some point, he’s just launched the Westfalia KS for the Dark Eye rpg minis, but after we talked the last time he said he was looking for a sculptor with experience of CAD style of sculpting. have you made it as far as facepage yet? If not I’ll find another way to get you kids talking ^^
@avernos oh yes I saw that KS today 🙂 ha ha, I’ve barely even scratched the surface of facebook yet 😛 I have a page, and thats about it so far, lol 😛
…hmmm, sounds interesting 🙂 I could PM you my work email, if that helps ?? 🙂
thanks for letting me know 🙂
join the page westfalia’s group therapy, at the very least it will introduce you to Kawe and apart from having other sculptors there, like Paul and Boris, it is also a good place to show off what you’re working on, as we’re a crusty old bunch who like toys ^^
@avernos yeah, I’ll make sure I get round to it 🙂 really need to do something with that facebook page anyway 🙂 ha ha
is he a rock or cave troll from the look of his back.?
yes, this guys called the Cave Troll Stone Breaker 🙂
He’s looking good.
@zorg thanks, I’m glad you like him 😀
Looks amazing! Knowing Kickstarter, the big question will be what material it’s going to be made of.
thanks 🙂 I’m planning on casting these in high quality resin 🙂 the guys at Hysterical Games will most likely
be handling the 3D printing and casting 🙂
Excellent
I like! He’s got lots of attitude.
thanks 🙂
Love the look of this troll and reminds me of the old Citadel stone trolls with its characterful style. Hope this will be made in metal or hard plastic/resin.
yeah, I wanted to do some minis that have a lot of character 🙂 and yep, they will all be cast
in high quality resin 😀
I’m not looking to go for another game but, i would go for that Troll!
thanks 🙂
