After doing the outer walls with the marble effect painting I turned to the inner walls and painted them with a lovely dark plum colour, again using household emulsions but it was all wrong and so I wiped it cleaned and decide that the inner wall should be left white.

So I decided the work on the tiles inside the temple and chequerboard them with again an Wilko emulsion named Retro Ochre and decided to finish off the outer wall. So I added some plain details to the outer wall by adding a trim to it. I went for a red brick band, used Vallejo’s Game Colour Terracotta for that gently brushed with Vallejo’s Game Colour Tan and added a top and bottom band of Wilko emulsion Retro Ochre to finish it off.

I also painted the untreated stone with a Wilko emulsion named Ahoy, to use the stone colour look and painted it on the pillars that are under construction and also a thin wash of it across the outside flooring.

So the next stage was to worry about the tiling outside the Temple and at first I thought that I should leave it plain stone but I thought no its a temple so I decided to pick out the stones and again chequerboard the outside to. Then next question was what colour and I look at the colours used for the marbling and when are Wilko emulsion named Dark Duck Egg and chequered the outside tiles.

I cannot believe I’m wide awake at this time in the morning so I thought it would good to assemble it and see what the Temple looks like so far with all the scaffolding added. So far I am rather pleased and the the pillar question is resolved, they are going to be yellow, like the windows. Once the pillars are done then I’m going to wash a black glaze and stone tone mix over it to bring out the details and then done.
