What you mean there is meant to be sound with the videos… ?
I think a silent movie style Weekender could be fun . A piano being played setting the mood and speech cards letting know what the dialogue is
*Thwack* Warren slaps Justin playfully. “No, you can’t reverse the polarity!”
Great vid, lov’in the technical deatil, keep packing in the video editing team there too!
I believe that headphones especially those with cat ears on it will add a unique flair to the weekenders.

I’ve been playing around with audio recently as well, just upgrading to a TekStar shotgun mic on a boompole has made a massive difference but I lucked out with my camera, it’s got an inbuilt amp that’s unclippable, not even with power tools! I did a whole online audio technicians coarse online so I actually understand what you said 🙂
It’s crazy where this old youtube lark takes you lol
Nice one Guy’s I did notice the sound wasn’t as good in some of the recent videos but that was just you trying out different things. can you not pull the sound file from the weekender and post on its own post Guy’s ?
I love all the behind the sceen stuff! In my studio/BoW-Game-Room, I’ve played around with my 8 channel mixer that has decent preamps. As for my favorite desktop (large barrel) mic i like the “Heil PR 40”. A little pricy at $349 currently, (I paid close to $400 when I bought my first one), but in short, the PR 40 is known by professionals as the “thoroughbred work-horse” of professional sound recording and reinforcement. When I started using it for my Skype “Dungeon World” game night weekly sessions, my players were blown away and started calling me the “Radio Announcer”… Read more »
Time for us to move in with you and film there lol 😉
I’ve been experimenting with a new system as the old one was getting a bit worn and temperamental. So I bit the bullet and went and bought myself a new pair of earphones from the pound shop
You sir make every investment we make feel so worth while 😉 lol
I think it’s important to let you know that your progression along the journey that is OTT encourages us as viewers and subscribers to also better ourselves
I watch the weekenders on my phone, sometimes through cheap headphones. The only element of the sound which has ever been a problem for me is Bens audio.
I always thought the cheapest and best solution would just be for him to move to N.I surely?
But is there enough room for Ben behind the set to look through a picture frame that is the same size as the monitor that we see him in now?
Although, he has gone vegetarian and some say almost vegan, he might just fit! ?
Such an awesome look behind the curtain there guys. It’s great to hear that you guys are constantly trying to improve what you provide. Very interested in hearing about those future video types you’ve got on the way.
Good job!
Love the thumbnail, I used to work with concert and event setups, lots of the audio tech guys and lighting/rigging guys did their thing, and I did mine. Still don’t get all this XLR malarky! LOL, but good to see you’re upgrading the microphones and setup. Still think that Ben should have a camera, how else can Holly see you guys? 😛
The sound with the new mics, from the current weekender already sounds better. Learning to work with the mics can take a bit but once you know what works and what doesn’t and what you can’t do you will find a nice system. Doing live interviews in a studio is always hard as everyone talks at a Mic just a little bit differently.
