Come and join us for another delve into the Forums and Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We're going to be getting stuck into lots of great looking pieces this week...

...make sure to always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.

Dark Age Starter Set by horus500

Leading the way for this week we have a look at some of the work by horus500 on his Dark Age Starter Set.

Dark Age Starter Set #1 by horus500

The painting here is sleek and clean, showing off a lot of detail across the different figures. The bright punchy orange/yellow works really well against the metallics that you can see on the models.

I really like how dark horus500 has managed to get the colours here for the metal without losing them to black. Match that with the contrasting colours of their armour and you have a striking set of models for the tabletop.

This set is then matched well against their enemies from the Starter Set. The Dragyri here is looking equally stunning with their pallid flesh and gleaming blades. I like the touches of purple and blue across the models which match well against the metallics that you see on the armour.

Dark Age Starter Set #2 by horus500

It's nice to see the mix of different colours here and the way that the basing works, framing both sets of models. Whilst I would normally have liked to base all of the models in this set, in the same way, I think this is probably very apt for them to show off this mix of snow and sand.

PaK43 With Crew by krautwerk

We then turn our attention to some excellent painting by krautwerk. I love seeing the work that he does on his Historical miniatures and this PaK43 is no different.

Pak43 & Crew #1 by krautwerk

The muddy autumn field that the gun has been placed on gives this weapon a sense of purpose and echoes back to the desperate fighting of the period. You could imagine these German soldiers hurrying back and forth, tossing open crates to one side as they look for shells to load into that massive gun.

PaK43 & Crew #2 by krautwerk

The etched name on the gun is a nice touch and helps bring the scene to life as a real moment in time. I love the way that their tattered uniforms are also matched against the landscape. It's good to have them stand out rather than get lost in the mud.

DUNE Project by andre77

Last but not least we turn our attention to the work of andre77 who has been doing some amazing work bringing the world of DUNE to life. He has been going above and beyond the call of duty to create the factions, landscapes and more from the books by Frank Herbert.

DUNE Project #1 by andre77

The first of the little spotlights I want to focus on this project is the board that he created. A lot of terrain has been made for this particular display including the painted dunes, the scarred rocks and the temples set inside of them. It is a truly wonderful table for playing games with a nice raised edge to stop dice going errant!

You can see it here once more with some of the armies battling it out across the landscape. If you'd like to know more...yes...andre77 has pretty much built and painted all of the factions from the books using an assortment of different providers.

DUNE Project #2 by andre77

This is an amazing project which has shown off the ingenuity and drive that someone can bring to bear on the tabletop. Most of us would love to have the focus that andre77 has to make all of this terrain, paint all of those models, and game all those games!

DUNE Project #3 by andre77

I urge you to go and explore this project in more detail and find out more about the world that andre77 is creating. DUNE is a Sci-Fi narrative which is now growing once more in focus within our industry and it's awesome to see this look back towards the retro period with both the books and the films (in part).
