Battle Kiwi Reveal Stellar New Star Battle Terrain Coming Soon!
August 29, 2018 by brennon
Battle Kiwi continue to impress with their new range of Star Battle Terrain which will be coming soon.
You can see many of the new terrain pieces as part of the image above but we'll make sure to break it down so you can see what will be coming up later this week from this skilled team in New Zealand.
Power Generator
We'll start with the biggest piece of the collection, the Power Generator.
This large piece here shows off what two of the Power Generators look when combined together and mounted atop the Substation terrain piece. They could be free standing as well if you prefer designing a landscape which might be a bit more overgrown, but I like the look of them mounted as part of this mechanical ensemble.
No eTicket!
The next piece we're going to look at is the Forcefield Gate.
This is a barrier that you can include as part of your terrain collection to keep pesky Rebels away from your key objectives. I like the idea of using one of these in your games and having it be one of the objectives to destroy the generator that power this. Suddenly you've got a piece of narrative terrain which changes as the battle unfolds.
You could then combine this with something like their wall sections and to provide a full on defence against invasion...
...and then, because you're awesome and cool like me, you'd replace the wall sections with Breached Sections when the Rebels had managed to get into position and destroyed it.
This is the kind of terrain that takes things to the next level. As Warren has always said, having interactive elements on the battlefield to help you tell the story is one of the key ways in which tabletop games can be brought to life.
If you're more tournament minded then this kind of terrain offers nice lines of fire and ways to ambush your foes to, breaking up the amount of hard cover around you.
Lookout!
You will have seen this building included as part of the wall section above. Here is one of the Guard Tower pieces which could house a lot of Stormtroopers and their entrenched guns.
The various levels offers up some dynamic gameplay opportunities and a chance for a good photo to go on Instagram.
The way that the outside of the tower has been finished as well means that it seamlessly blends into the rest of your wall section. In terms of painting this terrain, I reckon you'd get far with some airbrushing and a little bit of light weathering to show that it might have been here for a while.
Getaway Vehicle
It might not be the quickest getaway vehicle but you could do a seriously awesome chase scene using a couple of different Grav Loaders from the team at Battle Kiwi.
It isn't quite a sleek as the vehicle that Han Solo uses during Solo but you could see a few Stormtroopers mounted up in these chasing your heroes across the tabletop. Imagine twining that with a Jedi ready to leap between them so they can deal some serious cinematic hurt to his/her foes.
I think you'll agree that this is some sterling terrain that well deserves a closer look. Watch out for more from Battle Kiwi in the near future and of course check out their webstore later this week too.
What do you think of this new terrain?
