It's time for more Deadzone goodness as Warren and James sit down, break out a pile of the plastic terrain and start building an epic structure complete with added sniper tower!

I need deadzone terrain in my life 🙂
Good video guys, me and my friend have been buying sets to make scenery for the Judge Dredd Miniatures game with an eye to buying Deadzone soon.
wonder if Battlesystems in door terrain will be able to fit into this
Who knew watching two people clipping bits of plastic together could be so entertaining! And what an awesome structure at the end of it.
And strangely theraputic. 🙂
Careful Wargamers at work!
Love it
Wish I could play Deadzone, I cant as there are no players in my area interested :/
Don’t know if you’re aware but Mantic will be releasing a deck of AI cards in the future so it can be played solo.
I wonder how they will work and when they are out, I’m struggling to find players in my area as well
That I don’t know. But it’s part of the second survey which means not for at least a few months. 🙁
That’s cool, that’s fun, that’s a huge Warren-ish style Building ! I love it ! ^_^
Can’t wait for the rubble and ruins parts ! So cool !
That’s give me lots of ideas for creating scenary.
And how grateful is the sound of the ‘clics’ ! Always a fun time to build these DZ terrain.
This gave me a fair few ideas for when I finally get my hands on this stuff myself. Was thinking of a possible mission type while watching this. Both players build a structure out of components however they like, then place it on the table in whatever deployment is decided upon. Both players then place an objective item, like intelligence or some crate or what not, in a part of their building (in the case of Warrens tower for example the top of the tower would be ideal). Then both players have the goal of assaulting the other players building,… Read more »
Another great vid guys, couple of questions,
1. Apart from the new destroyed bits, did that build use most of the terrain found in the boxed set?
2. I was planning on painting my bits whilst still attached to the sprues, any thoughts?
Thanks again guys, looking forward to seeing that monster painted and more vids, keep up the good work
@warzan: Thanks Warren and James because I just watched this video earlier I just stopped into my FLYS and just picked up the starter set, extra scenery set and the crates! My bank card is melting.
That should read FLGS, stupid auto correct!
love it cant wait to see it in your battle report guys! need some more taller terrain in my games…
I do have this strong suspicion that there is something off with the crossbar pieces, they drove me absolutely crazy too.
With the 2 Core world battlezones I got in my Strike Team, I’ve got another Landing Pad and Fortification battlezone. I also have 2 Ruined Battlezones coming. Though I’m now contemplating whether it’s worth getting another 2 core worlds too… – Effectively doubling the amount of Deadzone terrain I’ve already got – Which is loads!
The Ruined pieces just seem to be better additions, rather than self contained sets.
Yeah, the connector holes in the X-frames do seem to be a bit tighter than the other pieces, they just need a quick file though to fix them up, no biggie. 🙂
How many kits were used to build this piece of terrain? I’m highly interested by these… 😉
“It’s not squares, it’s cubes” – think inside the box! 🙂
I’m also curious how many kits were used here (or how many were snipped and ready to go).
I would bet they used the Kickstarter set plus the new ruined sprues. Notice, they had terrain left over, and I reckon I could make a couple of those building with my KS set. The terrain is nice and takes paint well. Being hard plastic and using cubes sets this game apart. The connectors are fiddly and I suspect I will glue some set pieces together and leave other terrain clipped together for variety. All-in-all, out of 10, I’d give the Deadzone Mantic terrain a 6 for style, a 5 for the clip idea, 9 for the cube idea and… Read more »
Great terrain, is it going to be sold separately as an add-on for the game or to be used in other systems? Some time ago I’ve had a similar case of LEGO scenery building fever with OOP Robogear Hexagons-took me tons of time:

Like the ruins. Roll on … whenever KS part 2 arrives.
Nice to see that the lack of connectors has been recognised, shame I’m having to wait until wave 2 to use the second half of my terrain pieces, unfortunately even then I did not have the luxury of having 4 connectors per join and had to make do with just one or two.
The connecter sprues can be bought off the website now if you’re in need now, £2.50 each. Treat yourself to a dreadball team or KoW reg and just stick a few in the basket to get free postage.
Slightly cheaper in the 2nd survey but that’s not coming till June or something.
If woman watch this video, I wonder if it feels to them like something along those lines :

Sorry mate, but I think that will not be the case… But who knows? lol
Amazing video guys!
Deadzone is looking more amazing after every video, I’m already very tempted on buying the starter set and now with this video I’m really tempted on buying a lot of extra terrain.
The set looks amazing and I think that is a great addition to any wargame!
I’m looking foward to this battle report, I’m sure that will be an amazing battle for the control of this tower!
An hour plus of fun with terrain (and no plan).
My only issue with the terrain is that sometimes dismantling turns into a bit of a nightmare if you have plugged connectors/supports into both sides of a piece so there is no ‘free. side from which to push them out. Just be careful.
I am trying to work out how to construct a carwash from Deadzone terrain… 🙂
is this the scenery just from the starter kit? cuz wow, it’s awesome, probably going to get this game because of this video, the rest looked awesome too, but this scenery I could also use with 40k, the only game which has so far managed to capture me, deadzone will be breaking 17 years of monogamy 😀
It’s a couple of different packs. The ruins are due out later this year while the intact stuff (aka Core Worlds) is out now.
My mega starter set is already on its way due to arrive on Tuesday… it will be a looong weekend of waiting 🙂
I love this stuff an carn’t wait until the second survey stuff arrives, I managed this with the bits I got in the strike team package,

Really impressive paint job you’ve done there on the scenery, very similar to the idea I had in mind. What liquid rust did you use and where did you get it from?
Seriously cool pictures mate.
cheers glad you like the paint job, the stuff is called model mates, and found it on ebay, you’ll never look back once you start using it!
how can I get my hands on the ruins and fortifications?
does anyone know if I just have to wait for them to be put up to mantic’s site, and if so then for how long? They look super awesome and I’m afraid I missed out on the kickstart 🙁
