Ninja Division Announce Super Dungeon Novel Series
August 10, 2018 by brennon
Ninja Division has announced they are working with Future House Publishing on a Super Dungeon inspired novel series!
The novel series will comprise of five different books by a team of authors and they will be heading to Kickstarter to fund the collection. As well as the novels you'll also be able to pick up exclusive miniatures of the main characters.
"When asked about the partnership Dietrich Stella, co-creator of Super Dungeon, said, “We have always focused on creating Super Dungeon as a living breathing world, so the opportunity to expand Super Dungeon’s story and world beyond the games is tremendously exciting. We cannot wait for fans, new and old, to experience Super Dungeon as never before!”
We look forward to seeing what stories they have to weave and how the miniatures are going to turn out!
Will you be checking this project out when it launches?

That seems like it could be fun.
My my grandma, what big EYES you have!
Maybe one day they will get around to delivering the Super Dungeon Explore Legends KS that should have been delivered December 2016. With no production updates and only fluff being posted it looks like they will have to siphon the cash from this KS to prop up SDEL ….
They don’t have the money to produce it.
They’ve already gone on record as saying they have financing issues, so the SDE kickstarter has been put on an unknown hold period. Until they get some other projects off their plate.
My opinion, they are doing what ever they can to bring cash in. Hence this odd choice.
There isn’t a chance that something like this is going to bail them out. In fact none of their current and near future products have any hope of being the next big thing or bail them out at all.
where is it “On record” its certainly not anywhere on the KS that I have seen.
They only got $1.3M to produce this project where did it go? John Cadice was at Gen con promoting the next Ninja Division collaboration “Doomseeker”. way to squeeze more money from unsuspecting gamers.
They said it on facebook or twitter.
They want to concentrate on only a few projects for now, cause of finances. The talk is they are working on RElic knights and Starfinder Masterclass. They rest are on a holding pattern.
This is the same kinda shitty tactics Prodos pulled with AvP and seems to be the business model of some of these companies. good to know the money I put into SDEL is going to fund their previous badly managed projects before SDEL. This sort of thing has to be stopped by KS but as long as they get their cash well its screw the backers.
Yeah no one should be allowed to fund multiple projects, without finish the previous one, but as kickstarter i wouldn’t care less. They get their money, why stop this?
I think this concept was completely ruined early on with CMON (who regularly fund multiple projects at once, and then deliver them). In theory, backers should be acting like investors- and considering whether they believe that a company will be able to pull a project together. That doesn’t always work in practice, though. SDL is a tough one because there were zero red flags. SPM had delivered two Kickstarters successfully, the Super Dungeon brand was strong, and they really seemed to know what they were doing. There is still hope that this one will deliver (it appears that they are… Read more »
It is also the same tactics that Kingdom Death pulled for Kingdom Death: Monster.
We talk about screwing the backers- and it isn’t good for backers, but it isn’t like SPM ran off with all the cash either.
I’m hoping the end of it looks like Kingdom Death and not like Robotech, you know?
They’ve shown some progress toward wave 2 of WotF as well (the game is delivered, but the optional minis haven’t).
I would totally be down for learning more about the people and places of the SDE landscape. They have a map in the rulebook with various places that just scream a need for details.
I am afraid thought that a chibi look will angle the writers to produce things that are a little too light for my tastes. I hope that a sample or two will be shown at time of the kickstarter.
