This project is about detailing and weathering MDF-buildings for Star Wars: Legion. The kits I’m using are from Battle Kiwi’s “Star Battle” range.

As a first step, I built the kits per the instructions, just leaving some bits unglued, anticipating that I might want to do something about them.

The base kits would be fine to be used as terrain pieces. They come readily painted and have some nice details. However, like many MDF-kits there are parts that are not ideal, lack some detail and basically look “too MDF”.

One of the things that I dislike seeing in MDF-kits are the visible tabs. I’ll try to cover or paint over most of them.

On the shield generator, I’m really not sure about the small “satellite dishes” on the bigger one. They look very blocky and the big dish just might look way better without them. So far I’ve left them unglued and will decide about them later.

The small satellites. Should they stay...The small satellites. Should they stay...
... or should they go?... or should they go?

Another part of the shield generator I feel requires some attention is the support structure on the the top. As a terrain piece it’s very tall and the top will catch your attention. Again there’s visible tabs and a nasty gap on the corner.
