Star Wars: Legion expands in the near future with a look towards allies on both sides of the galactic conflict. The Rebels, however, get to call upon the warriors of Kashyyk as Chewbacca and his Wookie Warriors join the fray.

Chewbacca Expansion - Star Wars Legion

The first big announcement this week from Gen Con was for the Chewbacca Operative Expansion which gives you a partner for Han Solo on the field. It is pretty dangerous as you might imagine and comes armed with his deadly Bowcaster throwing two red and two white dice into the shot!

Chewbacca Miniature - Star Wars Legion

Chewbacca is a dangerous individual but he really shines when teamed up with the likes of Han Solo or indeed Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. He has a Teamwork ability which allows him to work in tandem with them, benefitting from their tight bond of friendship.

The miniature looks pretty darn awesome for Chewbacca too I must say and a big step up considering the rather disappointing Han Solo miniature they revealed earlier in the year.

Let The Wookie Win!

Chewbacca can also bring some of his allies from Kashyyk to come and play 'smash the stormtrooper' with the Wookie Warriors expansion.

Wookie Warriors Expansion - Star Wars Legion

As you might have guessed from their armaments, the Wookie Warriors are good at getting up close and personal with their enemy and taking them down in melee.

These warriors are key when it comes to a Rebel commander deciding on who to send out for an objective. These Wookies love delving through difficult terrain and if they can corner their foes they will be able to pin them down in combat and make them pay.

Future Releases

As well as these new Wookies the team at Fantasy Flight Games also announced two new Specialists Boxes which will be arriving in the near future.

Rebel Specialists & Imperial Specialists - Star Wars Legion

These Specialists allow you to use a range of generic Commanders on the tabletop from grizzled veterans through to medical droids and the like.

This all comes at the crest of a Clone Wars-era wave as Fantasy Flight look to delve deeper into the background of Star Wars over the coming years.

You're certainly not wanting for expansions!
