Gen Con 2018 Live Blog: Day One

It’s time to head off to GenCon 2018! The car’s packed, we’ve got our snacks and we’re ready to head out to the best four days in gaming.

Before GenCon kicked off, PlayFusion ran a special pre-release preview where players got their chance to give Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions a go and get their hands on some cards.

Loving the game as much as we do, we couldn’t resist getting stuck in and introducing the rest of the crew to it.

CMON had a bunch of cool new upcoming games with them at their pre-show event, ranging from the fun of the Wacky Races to the warring cartels of Narkos.

Fantasy Flight Games’ Corey has a quick chat with us after the In Flight Report to talk about some of the new games they have coming out, including a new edition for Arkham Horror and a truly unique new card game; KeyForge!

Fantasy Flight’s In Flight Report contained plenty of exciting news for Star Wars fans.

Massive ships sail into Star Wars Armada, while the spacecraft and characters of The Clone Wars come to X-Wing and Legion.

We sat down with the guys at CMON to get a closer look at their game Narcos, a board game based on the TV show where you each compete to make sure your cartel comes out on top.

Fantasy Flight announced their new game KeyForge, a truly unique collectible card game.

We got the opportunity for a quick look at how the game plays and can’t wait to get sat down to really dig into it.

Every year, Fantasy Flight Games hold their In Flight Report to let us know what they are working on.

This year they had some particularly cool announcements, including a new version of Arkham Horror, an expansion for the Game of Thrones Board Game, loads of exciting new goodies coming to Star Wars and the launch of a truly unique card game; KeyForge!

Thousands of people descend upon GenCon every year. There’s plenty to see and do at the event, with performers ready to entertain and, of course, loads of games to get playing.

4Ground are here at GenCon with a ton of terrain, letting players game through the twisting confines of their Olympus Mons Hive sets or in the historical settings of WWII.
