@torros have heard of DBM but regrettably that’s about as far as my knowledge goes. I did pick up the Warlord Games ‘Waterloo’ starter and familiarised myself with the enclosed Black powder rules set amd then downloaded the Pike and Shotte and Hail caesar PDF’s when they were up for free download a while back. Have skimmed through both of those and the underlying framework seems to be broadly consistent, so I can possibly leverage off that initially for an entrepot into smaller scale massed combat rules to see if it takes my fancy before exploring anything more tailored. I might look into getting some smaller scale stuff and see if I can paint it reasonably as a starting point. At least with smaller scale the upfront investment appears to be a lot lower than 28mm’s, and they’d be much easier to store…

@biggabum hadn’t considered purple. But now that you have mentioned it in your honour purple shall it be 🙂 Gratz on Bane, he turned out really well 🙂

@tuffyears well a movie with friends does sound like a nice diversion 🙂 Will have to admit IG do have me interested form a Kill Team perspective. Customising 15 guys to look like Steel Legion sounds much easier than doing it 200 times… DG Kill Team looks good – form the playthroughs I have watched having the pox walkers nearby should actually improve the survivability of your marines quite substantially.

@mage a day off every now and then form training is supposed to be a good thing? Right? Or am I just intentionally mishearing things again… Cultists are Reaper Bones minis, getting press-ganged into service for my terrain challenge project.

@dawfydd yeah Catapults were like the old Riflemen – heaps of firepower but not enough heatsinks to deal with the heat spike. So you either moderate your fire or play russian roulette… Knight looks good – how tall are those things once assembled?

@limburger am I then not the only one who has considered a harlequin Kill Team? Six models worth of diamond patterns can’t be all that bad, can it? 😛

Been doing a bit of writing up of my terrain challenge PLog and sparked up the 3D printer to do some siege equipment. Beyond that, busy week at work so don’t think I’ll get much else done hobby-wise.
