House Cawdor & Easy Turf Wars Coming To Necromunda This Week
July 30, 2018 by brennon
Games Workshop is expanding on the grimdark world of Necromunda this week as they add House Cawdor into the mix for your gang wars beneath the girders and sewage pipes of the Hive Cities.
You will find them inside this new supplement for the game, Gang War IV. As well as Cawdor within its pages you will also find expanded rules for the game as a whole including the introduction of Brutes, the Cawdor Stig-shambler and even rules for the first psyker in the game thus far!
Of course, a new set is going to be released as well.
I really like the wild cultist vibe that Cawdor has going on and it's neat to see that they've managed to bring back the candle-hats in some fashion too. They might not be entirely practical but they really do conjure up the essence of those older miniatures with a modern twist.
As with all of these releases you're also going to get some themed gang cards and a dice set to help add some bling to your collection too.
Territory Cards
Another neat release coming your way this week is the Campaign Territory Deck which gives you a quick and easy way to generate territory for your games.
Anything that takes the book-diving out of the equation and keeps you focused on the gaming table and the action going on there is good in my books. I really liked the card-driven systems that Games Workshop have employed with their other games and this looks to be another neat addition to the melting pot.
Are you tempted by House Cawdor?

I do like the look of these crazy religous loonies. I, however, love the CPG (as opposed to RPG)… sheer brilliance.
Those do look really good. Not among my favorite gangs mind you but still.
They are some truly awesome models.
Still waiting for my Delaque, but I have to say the necromunda stuff has all been brilliant.
I know some moan about the speed of releases, but a book and box every 2 or 3 months just means its easier to get it all within the hobby budget.
I prefer the slower release pace, it’s easier to keep up without spending loads of money that I simply don’t have
*sigh* Anyone want to buy a kidney?
Their looking good they could work well as armed dock/construction for cult worshippers to beef up gang numbers.
I was quite looking forward to Cawdor as they were the gang i had in the original game but im just not digging the aesthetic here, it looks too kit bashed for me (I cant unsee the Bretonnian bits). That crossbow things looks weird too. Compared to the other gangs they have put out i think im gonna be giving these guys a miss.
I bet I see these guys showing up as cultitst in 40k as well.
I used to use Cawdor minis as part of my Inquisitor’s entourage.
I was a Castor & Delaque guy in the original Necromunda.
Originally liked the look of the new models. Over time, starting to feel like they might have overdone the rag-tag nature of them. They look a bit too primitive and poverty stricken.
Back in the day, I started out with a Ratskin gang, but when they got wrecked hard, I started playing Van Saar (at that point, I realized that playing an outcast gang was hard mode- except for Spyreres).
I had always wanted to play Scavvies and Cowdor, but my local scene fell apart before I could.
CURSE YOU GW… my poor wallet ;_;
