    I just got back into it a few weeks ago. I quit a year ago, for almost a year as I found the game quickly grew stagnant.

    However, after this:

    I dived back on in. Seeing material by this guy too also encouraged me to re-immerse myself:

    I was not disappoint and am playing every day now. Team Instinct all the way!

    If you left the game, log back in and have some fun. There has been SO much added.

    Okay I looked at this out of curiousity mostly as I thought the game was dead, but I watched the videos and really enjoyed the second  one a lot , what a nice bloke. Anyway thank you vey much for sharing.  Am I playing Pokemon-go ? No, and I never have but now there is a slight part of me that is slightly curious…..  cheers mate and I wish you every success 🙂

    bah team Instinct.
    Mystic is where it’s at :-p 😉

    I’m not sure I’d call it a game to be honest, but finding spots for pokemon is fun.
    The only bad thing about the game is how much it drains your phone while it is running.
    To me that was the main reason I sort of stopped playing it every day.
    I do like the mini challenges they’ve added recently, because they’re achievable without having to obsess about the game.
    And there’s trading now, but I haven’t seen anyone nearby to even check it.

    The only negative is that I haven’t had health packs in a while, so I’ve got a lot of ‘dead’ pokemon I can’t use in battles.

    @mage : There’s a Switch game coming that connects with Pokemon Go.
    That could be real killer app for that console (if you like pokemon that is ;-))

    @beardragon14

    Game is far from dead, as you can see. I started playing it again after quitting a year ago and I am glad I came back.

    Give it a try, the app is free. There are in app purchases, like with most phone games, but it is a lot of fun. Especially if you get involved in a local community.

    Ill do a longer write-up on my recent experiences later.

    @limburger

    Team Instinct is more popular now. I think a lot of people who started and left were mystic, actually :p

    Well, its more a game than a piece of interactive theatre street art. I mean, you can battle, trade, get items, use them. It seems like a game to me. And later this year you can put your pokemon go pokemon onto pokemon lets go on the switch.

    It does drain the phone to be fair, but some people just get power banks. Think of it as a battery for your wireless remote.

    Do you still play?

    Get those health packs from spinning poke stops, making friends and receiving gits and you will be fine.

    The Switch Game is the subject of my first link.

    I recevied one of these a couple of weeks ago:

    An invite only pass to a special Raid. Oooooooooo

    The invite was to face Mewtwo, a Legendary Pokemon from the first game that has appeared in later games and the series as well as movies. He is often a bad guy, very powerful and a lab experiment that went awry. A kind of, Monster in the Dark, if you will.

    Each team (Instinct are Yellow, Mystic are Blue and Valour are Red) created a separate lobby. That way we could all maximise the benefits of doing separate fights rather than going public. We selected our own battle teams and waited for battle…

    I wasn’t sure if we had enough time to defeat Mewtwo. I used a bug type, Anorith, to capitalise on Mewtwo’s weakness

    Apologies for the bad photo. I was focussed on the fight and waiting til victory was on our side before taking a snap with the ringer thingy on screen. Many of us brought Ghost and Dark types/moves to counter Mewtwo’s Psychic type. I went trough about nine Pokemon, facing off with one of my B-Team members, Banette, a Ghost Type, toward the end of the fight.

    We persevered and I caught my Prize (not a guarantee to catch him after winning):

    I appraised him and discovered he is 95-98% Perfect, there is an in app way to figure it out and a now banned IV checker that one can use. So, I have me a Champion right here.

    Our mark of victory:

    Later that day we saw this dude by the local river and made him our FB Page Mascot:

    Heh … I am not sure how this would go with the”powers-that-be” mate, but I would love to see your Pokemon Go adventures as a project.  Really enjoying following your exploits

    As for downloading it alas, it won’t run on an iPhone 5…. (I spend most of my “fun” money on miniatures so I keep going on old phones until they die … ah well . As I said I enjoyed your adventure)

    Get a cheaper android phone?

    Tell me what has you interested and what  you would like to see, it would give me a framework of what to do with it and execute it as a project.

    Haven’t played since when it first came out really. Got bored of it really quickly. Might end up trying it again at some point to see all the new features and stuff but I really don’t think it will hold my interest.

    I feel a similar way about the AR Walking Dead game, I reckon I’ll play it for a week or 2 and get bored of it really quickly.

    Hey @commanderkaiser I felt the same way and I stopped for about a year until a few weeks ago.

    The new features, new pokemon, and game mechanics are good. Id highly recommend giving it a try, but with one caveat: check out your local community via social media and join in on a community day, for raids, or on any other special event days.

    Never heard of nor played that

    #1239209

    @mage Maybe I’ll give it another go and reinstall it on my phone. I’ll take a look at the videos posted above after work.

    Walking Dead one looks interesting rbf but it’s sort of in the same vain as Pokemon Go, quite a few games seem to of jumped on the AR bandwagon like Jurassic Park and Harry Potter to name a few.

    @mage : I think the droprate of health packs have changed … I had 30+ revives and various others.

    I used to do six while on my way to work (until they put a speed limit in that prevented you from triggering stops while in a car), but now that I’ve got another job I’d be lucky to get the one near my house.

    There’s another one at the railroad station, so that’d be a max of 4 stops / day for me.

    How does the friend system/trading work ?
    I’m guessing you need to be in the same physical location?
    I’ve got a few gifts from stops, but I can’t use them myself 🙁

    I played it regularly back in 2016 but then stopped as it became too repetitive and the battery drain was too much of a hassle if being out and about casually.

    Since a still enthusiastic friend visited earlier this year I have popped in and out on occasion and after reading your post I am playing sitting on the sofa on holiday, which is ideally placed between two PokeStops 🙂

    The Switch game looks interesting, I am sure to buy it. Thanks for sharing the videos – the power gaming is in equal measure inspiring and off-putting I have to say. Just think of what these people could achieve if they sent their time painting toy soldiers instead!

    @commanderkaiser

    Id recommend it.

    Ill check out youtube for the games you describe and see what similarities they have.

    @limburger

    You can get them from friends too. If you want I can send you via PM my friend code? I have a load. You can get them for participating successfully in raids.

    Speed limit? Darn laws.

    The friend system works by one person giving another a 12 digit code. You then exchange gifts and level up as friends over time, gaining experience, items and levelling up friendships. Also, if you have a free space in your eggs, you get a 7km Alola egg. That’s a very brief summary. You do not need to be close, you can be thousands of miles apart.

    As for trading you trade pokemon and it costs stardust. It costs more if the pokemon is not one in your pokedex (you haven’t caught it), shiny or legendary. It costs less the higher your friendship. You need to be in close proximity to trade.

    You can throw them away or save them, the gifts that is. You can put your trainer code up on your local towns Pokemon Go community page or other ones and get friendship requests.

    @subedai

    As did I. I stopped for the same reasons. Now, with the added content and the fact I own a power bank has changed my mind, even with the battery burn.

    How is it going so far, sitting down and fishing at poke stops? Put up some lures!

    Im gonna get a switch just for that. And Zelda.

    You are welcome J

    Everything has power gamers. They could achieve horrific stuff in wargaming.
