More Dwarf Ironbreakers & Irondrake Images Leak Out
February 13, 2014 by brennon
If you liked the snippet look at the Irondrakes earlier this week then you might begin to drool over the more close up images of both them and the Ironbreakers from the new White Dwarf coming this Saturday for Games Workshop's Dwarfs thanks to Bugman's Brewery once again...
The Ironbreakers themselves are looking fairly epic I have to say. I love that they have gone with the metal beard covers over the top and the miniatures as a whole remind me of some of the Adrian Smith art we've seen in the past. In fact I have a very neat piece of Ironbreaker art as my site avatar at the moment.
We also have a closer, and better, look at the Irondrakes and more specifically that awesome command and the special weapon, the Trollhammer. This is the strength eight, multiple wound rocket propelled hook that I can imagine hurtling towards a troll and slamming through him before dragging him down where he gets hacked apart by fellow warriors.
The Hammerers were an immediate buy for me when they came out a couple of weeks ago and the same is going to go for the Ironbreakers/Irondrakes. I will have the rulebook come Saturday so will make a decision on how to build them then!
What do you think?

Still not sold on the 40k/Mantic style stuff. I don’t play any GW games but to me they look inconsistent with the Warhammer fantasy world, but of course, fully compatible with the recently released Apache gunship egg. The other ones don’t look bad… but I haven’t dared look at the price. And of course, I don’t buy GW stuff anymore.
Yes but do you play GW games or buy GW stuff?
Played a few WFB games a few years back, then quickly moved on to less abstract systems. As I’ve said before, I like the style of GW’s elves, and have about 300 figures in my Battlesystem army. I also have some of their demons and beastmen. I still drop in to the store with unpainted stuff every now and again, as it’s difficult to set aside an afternoon at home to paint… so I know enough about the game from watching and listening to others. I’ve boycotted GW stuff for ethical reasons, for their treatment of customers and competitors. If… Read more »
ermm … I was joking. 😉
Meaning no disrespect, but jokes about battered spouses and abusive relationships aren’t very funny given society’s serious problems with domestic violence. There are other avenues for humourously mocking Games Workshop that don’t involve trivilaising the suffering of others.
To get back on topic. I personally like the current crop of Dwarf models. They retain the eclectic oddity of the Warhammer world while still managing to convey the idea that the Dwarf race has a noble (if rather cantankerous) warrior creed.
Good grief.
Really liking the releases so far, even the copters have grown on me.
I’m still not keen on the Irondrakes, but the Ironbreakers are nice if still a little overdesigned, particularly the ones that don’t use the helmets and beard armour that the Irondrakes have.
Wow, that’s an ugly sentence I did wrote up there lol. I think the Ironbreakers are nice models, they are bit overdesigned though. I prefer the ironbreakers that don’t have the helmets and beard armour of the irondrakes.
I actually really like the Ironbreakers there. The shield wall vibe I’m getting from them seems very fitting.
Mantic helmets… All the way. Not just on a few models.
They are not mantic helmets, look at GW’s original metal (old) Ironbreakers, the above helmets are in line with those.
Now if only the Warriors were redone ta match the rest of the army… Then I’d be completely sold.
the beards look terrible on some of the models and I think they look to arty.these are not the dwarfs you are looking for…
