Warlord Bring Doctor Who’s Papal Mainframe & Headless Monks To Life
July 16, 2018 by brennon
With the new Doctor Who series just around the corner, the folks at Warlord Games continue to delve into the universe with their miniatures collection. The newest models for the range focus on The Papal Mainframe and The Headless Monks...
The set collects together three of the characters from the more recent series of Doctor Who adventures with Tasha Lem, Madame Kovarian and Colonel Manton as part of the set. If you want some serious fanatics to fight against on the tabletop then you need the followers of The Mainframe, the Headless Monks.
Choosing to follow their hearts rather than their minds they have devoted themselves to the cause by chopping their own heads off! They can channel energy into their lands to lob at you from distance or channel it into their swords to use in close combat.
Whilst I think the fellow with his hood lowered looks a bit odd I think these would be awesome models to use beyond the bounds of Doctor Who. Imagine using this set as dangerous cultists who are out to bring down the local town in Dungeons & Dragons for example?
If you're a Doctor Who fan or indeed want something new to use in your games elsewhere these might not be a bad shout.
What do you think?

I think these are some of the better sculpts for the game so far, although I do agree about the Monk with his hood down. It is never not going to look a bit odd as we expect to see a head, yet it is true to the show. A design dilemma indeed!
ooh nice.
Those do look really good but I do think that all three Headless Monks should have they hoods down.
