Forge World Show You Kharn Before He Was Kharn!
February 8, 2014 by brennon
Alright, this will make a bit more sense in here. Before Kharn was The Betrayer he was simply The Bloody and this is the interpretation of him we've just got from Forge World.
As you can see his is pictured and posed in the midst of battle, tearing one of his fellow battle brothers to pieces with his deadly axe Gorechild or the sword Cutter. It's a very cool looking model and you can even have him sans-helmet for a more personal touch as he looks his enemy dead in the eyes.
A very cool model that will go well alongside others of his Horus Heresy ilk. It does also remind you that despite all that armour Space Marines are actually quite agile, something that doesn't come across sometimes. Very neat indeed.
Will Kharn be in your collection?

Khaaaaaaaaan!! (sorry)
I like him. I think the bare head is fantastic – hasnt been true of a lot of recent marines, both forgeworld and GW, but that is good. I also like the helmet, you can see the basis of the chaos khan in it, which is clever.
I’ve been thinking of doing a ‘before and after’ corruption of some plague marines as I have a painted unit of them, but I also have a painted khan, so this could work too.
Easily best Kharn sculpt ever.
Why has he only “disarmed” the Raven Guard marine? I hope there’s another character to interact with this piece, otherwise, whilst really nice, it’s a bit silly.
The enemy’s a bit stiff… I think it’s over the top, and the paint-job could be better.
Yeh his victims pose has no sense of motion at all.
Um, that’s because his “foe” was on guard duty, minding his own business, when Khan ran past him giggling like a girl flailing his axe around….
This is why he had no friends, back in those days.
You’re not buying the paint job though are you?
I agree that the enemy figure is a bit mediocre. I actually thought exactly the same thing when I first saw the Angron miniature with it’s flying dead guys. Khan looks amazing though.
Don’t forget that this is made from resin, so you could heat up and repose that marine. I think for the paint job, that they’ve gone for the rough and ready look that fits the World Eaters Legion and the way Forge World paints it’s line of weather beaten and battle scarred tanks and whatnot.
Not a fan of space marines in 40k but some of the 30k sculpts are awesome, loving the Death Guard and can’t wait too see some 30k Space Wolves.
Lovely looking sculpt, over the top, exactly what the world eaters are.
I’ll pass on this.
I like Degra’s stuff but this is a bit underwhelming. It’d work better without the other marine.
So we get a model of Khan the Betrayer where his axe, an axe that is NAMED no less, can be viewed face on at the slimmest angle an axe can be viewed at? Why hasn’t he been sculpted with the axe taking equal centre stage with the face and pose? Badly thought out. If I bought it I would have to reposition it but that aint the point is it!
Or you could just move your head when you want to look at the axe.
Think the only thing that bothers me is the fact he changed which hand he holds his close combat weapon after 10,000 years… Blokes never change their weapon hand…
I like the model but the pose is very very similar to Angron, still nice though.
Failing to see what could possibly be special about this piece, compared to the other HH sculpts it lacks finesse
Kharn was hardly a finesse fighter – it is certainly stripped down and basic, but I think fitting for the character. But each to their own. Bast character sculpt so far for me though remains Ferrus.
Love it, perfect for Kharn – simple, brutal. Never had much time for the world eaters until I read the Heresy books particularly betrayal, he is a really interesting character.
Nice enough looking model, but I really wish Forgeworld would stop faffing about and get round to making Horus (Alternate good and bad versions) and also Sanguinius. Those are the ones I’d like to see, and I suspect many others would too.
