Rapper Ice T Lends His Voice to D&D
February 7, 2014 by dracs
Rapper and actor Ice T is apparently a well known gamer, but now he has met his match as he describes recording a Dungeons and Dragons Audiobook as being "impossible to read".
Now if you are like me, you find the idea of a rapper being asked to read a story of high fantasy hilarious in and of itself, but it gets better as Ice T shared his experience with the recording on his podcast.
According to The Verge, Ice T described the classic RPG as being
"some of the most crazy, deep, deep, deep nerd s**t ever invented,"
He goes on to say,
"Every word you're saying is made up. Mother******s talk like Yoda."
Now, having read some of the Dungeons and Dragons novels in the past I can kind of see where he is coming from.
Still, I can't help but think that the popular rapper was rather miscast as the narrator of such a story. Unfortunately, we don't know yet what book it is he was reading, so we can only wait and see how he did.
Who do you think would be the greatest person to record a D&D audiobook?
Thanks to Alex for pointing this out to us.

Attention
At this moment you are listening to Ice T read a D&D novel
If you are offended by words like
chuckle, grinned, Mundar the Irrepressible, tavern wench,
leagues, rations, 10′ foot pole, waybreadwenchchucklingextralongpole,
whateva
put the book down now
this is not a well written book
and by the way
suck my mother’s +5 sword of smiting
Virtual high-five to the first person who gets the reference.
I think Ice-T could bring a breath of fresh air to fantasy tropes… Though I’m not sure the joke would last past short story length.
Well it’s better that former rapper Ice-T is lending his voice to D&D audiobooks over new Bodycount albums !!
About as metal as my thorntons special toffee !!
Has anyone watched the classic film Leprechaun in the Hood? Ice T acted in that film and I think also in its sequel.
Good for him for stirring things up a bit.
