DUST Tactics Free Rules Download

If you're interested in getting started in the world of DUST Tactics then you can check out the full starter rulebook which is now available for download. Get your intel sorted and work out your battle plans before the inevitable engagement.
It's a very nice, glossy, document and well worth having a read through. We've always been quite taken with DUST and this could possibly spark the start of something this year. We shall see.

Yes as a matter of fact. Somehow I took a liking to the starter packs and will be picking them up when they eventually get released.
Sounds like they are learning from Mantic 🙂
Giving people an opportunity to browse, study and try out a game for themselves will probably win many many more over than it might lose (after all, inevitably some people will dislike or be unmoved by any given game even if it is merely a matter of personal taste).
DUST has some great minis.
In all fairness, there are companies that have been making their starter rules available for free for a long time. Some companies make the full rules for their games downloadable. Catalyst has made the starter rules for their games—Battletech, Shadowrun and Leviathans—available since the company started in 2007, and they were the original publisher for Eclipse Phase, which is licensed under Creative Commons (meaning you can duplicate, alter and redistribute the game as you like so long as you don’t sell it for profit). Also, I didn’t realize the DUST games were going to be published under the Gale Force Nine brand. I expected them to be published as Battlefront minis. That’s an interesting decision they made because now it means GF9 isn’t just a brand-agnostic accessories company anymore. They actually have a game of their own (technically, they always did in Flames of War, but a lot of people didn’t realize that because of the branding). That sounds like good news … perhaps by appearing in a mag read by both advanced and beginner wargamers could spark development of more “mature” rules for Dust Warfare. A longshot perhaps, but the way i see it alot of the Dust design probably appeals to even the most history savvy people.
Ow crap I hadn’t seen those starter packs yet… That’s another game to add to my list
