Starting off from the bases. My general plan for basing my Gangs of Rome models:

– Keep it relatively plain. The miniatures are nicely details and characterful, they deserve the attention.

– I will be using magnetic sheeting for storage, so washers are ideal for bases.

– I want to make use the base notches and the tokens that come with the minies.

– With ancient Rome, you can’t go wrong with cobblestone…

Step 1. Greenstuff roller cobbles. I had couple of alternatives of rollers, but the more traditional mixed size natural stone ones felt best fit fo ancient rome. I tried to use as little greenstuff as possible, to keep the bases as thin as possible, but still have clearly defined cobbles.

Step 2. Remove excess GS. After the greenstuff was dry, I cut away the excess from the edges.

Step 3. Washers. Gladly I had washers matching exactly to the laser cut GoR bases. I simply superglued the bases on them.
