Don’t Panic Games Get Bull Headed in Maelstrom
January 29, 2014 by dracs
Don't Panic Games continue to show off the sculpts for the upcoming two armies starter set for the game Maelstrom, this time bringing their take on the classic myth of the Minotaur.
The Minotaur are the elite troops of the Irosian Empire, a force largely dominated by humans, but which still commands the loyalty of a number of other races too.
Don't Panic Games have managed to steer clear of the very brutish depictions of the Minotaur and have brought us something that looks quite graceful in comparison. However, I would say that, to my eye, it looks a bit ill-proportioned, as if a slight breeze will cause it to fall on its face at any moment.
What have been your thoughts on the Maelstrom miniatures so far?

Meh. Scibor or Mierce make incredible minotaurs, full of character and savage tear-your-head-off goodness. This one looks a bit meek/bland. But there’s always the price to consider…
I like this one… it’s an original take, far from the GW minotaur, closer to a minotaur version of the PP satyrs ! Mierce and Scibor are just churning out the same old things, comparatively, even though the quality of teh sculpt and the character of the pieces are almost always there.
