Forged In Battle Preview 15mm Motte & Bailey Castle
June 28, 2018 by brennon
Forged In Battle were able to fund this awesome 15mm Motte & Bailey Castle during one of their recent Kickstarter projects and now it has been finished, ready to be sent off to be produced in resin.
The three-part model is scaled to fit with your 15mm gaming so if you're looking to create a settlement based around the Norman Conquest this would be a good shout. It has plenty of room within the middle to put your troops and other buildings as well as provide you with an eye-catching centrepiece for the tabletop.
Andrew Rawling has done a sterling job on this and it would be great to see how it all looks when it has been fully painted, ready for the battlefield.
It does conjure up interesting scenario ideas of rebel Anglo-Saxon lords trying to siege this place and bring down the entrenched Normans whilst out in the fields ambushing parties are trying to stop the reinforcements from making it to the castle to relieve the defenders.
The fighting didn't just stop in 1066 after all!
What do you think?

Rebellions of Hereward the Wake and in the north would be fun to play, but the wars between Stephen and Matilda saw a resurgence of Motte and Bailey fortifications (the remains of one are a couple… Read more »
