XLBS Update
So I go into some detail on how the game is put together on this weeks XLBS, if that has led you here… welcome 🙂
OK so as of the 14th March 2021 – I haven’t had a chance to put a number of rules in the PDF you can download in this project.
Basically, there are rules of what happens to the gang when a monster appears (in short if they are within their yellow scare range they take a scare test – Monsters Scare value (plus any bonuses(from action cards etc) plus a spin of the arrow – minus gang members courage plus any bonuses (from action cards etc))
You then move the character directly away from the monster up to the value left and perform any stunned tests etc. If during the move the character hits anything (terrain, other character or monster or table edge they stop and are automatically stunned)
Grabbing
Any time a monster ends up in base contact with a gang member the monster tries to grab them. I’m working on some rules for this and will return with an update on how they work when I’m happy with the results.
As always I love feedback so hit me up in the comments, and feel free to take the game, make it your own and enjoy it with your loved ones 🙂

Game Setup
The following is a rough guide to setting up the game (Updated 12 March 2021)
The clue widget allows you to insert a clue discovery card (Velmas is above) then when you slide up the middle screen, it reveals either a green or red dot to say whether the suspect fits the description.
Rules and Gubbins
This is where I will store the current version of any printouts for the game.

What would a Scooby Doo Game Doo?
Here’s a bit of a wish list for features (in no particular order) of a Scooby Doo Game….
- Needs to be a ‘proper’ miniatures style game as I want it to be a gateway for my kids into more sophisticated tabletop games.
- Should have measuring distances as a core skill for kids to learn in the game.
- Should promote teamwork and sharing – so let make it cooperative to begin with.
- Needs Monsters!
- Needs Mystery so hunting for clues – clues should in some way lead to the discovery of a solution to the mystery.
- Should have a ‘pesky kids and their dog’ unveiling!
- I would like to look for fun alternative mechanics to dice that speed up game play and keep the whole thing more tightly themed.
