AoS Build and Paint
This weeks Builds
After blowing some cash on a bunch of hobby this month, I thought I’d start a project to help keep track of getting it all built and painted. I’ve been really enjoying AoS over the last year, the changes they’ve introduced to the game since launch have really made it into one of my favourites.
The first thing I got excited for this year was the Idoneth Deepkin, I collected a few units for them a while ago and again, hadn’t got them built. So with the announcement of AoS 2.0 I reckoned it was about time to put it all together and make a concerted effort to get it all ready to go. We’ll see how far I get lol.
Let’s kick off this project with what I got built in the last 12 days or so.
First off, I picked up the Blightwar box set. I really wanted to get a collection of the Vanguard Stormcast to add to the small force of basic Stormcast I already have as well as to build on the sacrosanct chamber in the Soul Wars box when it hits.
I love the Nurgle units here, just take a look at that Horticulous Slimux model, it’s a great model to build and honestly can’t wait to paint that. I reckon once painting starts the Nurgle will be the first in line.
To add to the vanguard, I also picked up a start Collecting Set, so far I’ve only built the Lord Aquilor so the rest will have to get built this week at some stage.
I also got my Idoneth Deepkin collection built, will be adding to these guys as time goes on, amazing models and a fun army to play. So far I have around 1100pts or so. The eels are like hens teeth right now so I haven’t grabbed any yet. Will be picking up an Eidolon of Mathlann as well. The only thing left to build for the Deepkin are a unit of reavers. Lotann is in two bits right now just to keep him a bit easier to paint, rather than having to navigate a brush through all those tentacles.
I know I posted this pic in the image gallery, but seriously, look at this guy! I love this model.
Considering the Soul Wars box is Stormcast Vs Nighthaunt, I picked up a couple of models to bolster the ranks. I only picked these up last week and haven’t had a minute to build them yet.
And last but not least, some scenery. The Azyrite ruins are a great set from GW and what would the Deepkin be without their Ship Wreck.
I’ll keep the project updated as I make progress through the collection. My pre-orders are in for Soul Wars so I’ll be posting pics from that as well when it hits.
Looks like you have your hands full getting through all this beautiful stuff. Best of luck!
Cheers Dave, working my way through the Nurgle right now. Loving every second. Been a while since I had the time.
