‘The Bounty Hunter’ , sometimes known as ‘ The Knight with No Name’.
Home planet Unknown, one of the many known lost Knight planets. , speculations ‘Avalon, Mercia, Narnia, Westros, Rohan.
The ‘Bounty Hunter’as both and his support prefer to be called all hail from the same world, but even their mechanus adepts avoid any mention of the exact source world.

#History , although never confirmed by Knight himself, intelligence gained from his support serfs , mechanus adepts etc, believe he is illegitimate son of noble, when planet overun by chaos demons , he with other survivors found Knight abandoned or left when household wiped out. Machine spirit selected individual despite lack of noble heritage and bonding accepted.
Survivors used Knight to fight way of planet, became Mercenaries to survive , salvaging equipment initially until bounties were of sufficient value to upkeep Knight.
Current Knight, Twin Autocannon layout favoured, even if Renegade configuration, initially based on available salvage on home world escape.
#Motivation , Inquisition believes loyal to Empire, motivated purely by acquisition of credits or salvage , for the prosecution of revenge against any agents of Chaos.
Although seems to have a total lack of respect for conventional Imperial heiracy, is an effective agent for Inquisition if targeted correctly. Has an Impressive kill list.
Chaos forces call him ‘Mr Sudden Death’ based on his incredible speed with all his weapons, no foe has ever been able to get the 1st shot in any sort of even contest, combined with his deadly accuracy and a natural tactical ability makes the Hunter one of the Inquisitions most valued assets and allows for his occasional lack of respect.

Unicorn symbol exact origin unknown but belived to be the insignia of the Lost World Mercia hences above listing for possible source planets.
101 number again exact origin unknown though when once asked it is believed to be something from pre Age of strife.

Taller than Human average, appears to be currently around 30 std Terran years old , Rarely talks unless he has to, when not in his Knight carries an arcane pistol, in a fast draw style hidden under a battered army poncho. Believed to be as fast and deadly with this as his with his Knights weapons

- Well doing a bit each free night this week (no pun) and theres not been many.Put on transfers, using micro set and sol, ala Johns demos.
I also downloaded some wanted posters off google, I gave them a coating of diluted pva and brown wash on reverse. I also tried a new Matt Varnish and was really impressed with results.
The Black Knight/Knight with no Name
Been a bit since I added to this project, more Knights have been acquired, this Knight idea awaited having enough Avenger auto cannons, with there being a spare in the Canis Rex I was able to proceed. I this time decided to take a few of Johns Ideas:
1 I left of the armour to paint separately
2 I undercoated black and dry brushed Gun Metal rather than base coat gun metal and then black wash.
Stage 4 First Knight completion and Castallan on the go
Half way through applying the transfers to My Knight Crusader, As it may be my personal Knight, decided to go for my personnal livery, which became the club emblem for a while ( I paint all the minis) This meant that I had to catefully hand paint the White Unicorn on both the Left Knee, and Right shoulder, good thing I’ve had a lot of practice (I put the emblem on the Knees and sheilds of both my Raven Guard and Grey Knights). The design goes back to the mid eighties when or group put on a lot of medieval skirmish game with a set or rules called Retinue , and led to our groups name ‘Knights Mercian’.
Stage 3 1st Knight and Finishing the Squires
I decided to start the project with the squires, to try out the way I was going to paint them etc. As such it helped in the learning process on painting their bigger brothers. One of the things I realised was needed to better seal the base material as bits were flaking off when dry bushing. I already mentioned that I needed to paint the base colour on the base prior to inking. So last night did that on one of the Knights and then coated the rubble piles with Army Painter Strong Tone dip using the thick varnish to seal it to the base.
Next day I put an all over Nuln Oil black wash on both model and base, then once dry , dry bushed model with Plate metal, and the base Greatcoat grey.
Later I put on the base colours including the Gold
Leaving that model for a bit I returned to the Armigers , now ready for applying the transfers, the models have nice flatish areas but having found it easy to use, still used the John Tutured method of prep area with Micro Sol before putting on decal , then putting another layer on after they are in place. Leaving them for a couple of hours for the backing film to Disolve, finally sealing them in with Micro Set.
Some of the unused transfers such as some thin White lines an half of A White Aquilla were added to the Base to give it a more Imperial Industrial setting
I then varnished the whole model other than the Gold bits in Army Painter Anti shine, the Gold being done in Gloss. To give a bit of a sheen to the metal areas I then Dry brushed Gloss Varnish lighly over the areas to put slight shine to exposed areas.
Now I originally said that I wanted the Bases to be a mix between Urban and Desert.
My Idea was to show an wrecked Urban area where the Sand had begun to blow in from the surrounding Desert, so around the rubble , mixed in with it and in patchs on tarmac, so painted pva over areas and spinkled on librally my desert mix.
Believe it the mix is over 20 years old , originally made when I actually flocked my Hexon Terrain at the time. A friend at the Club had been working as a consultant at a Lime Stone quarry and had been looking at the bags of powder accumulated on it extraction,to see if it had any commercial use, so had given me a bag to try. On the test tile it had looked a bit flat, so a whim mixed a big bag of fibrous flock that I had brought at Partizan a year earlier, in the Dark not well lit main hall it looked a good sand colour, but on getting outside it was nearly bright orange!
I thought the fibrous nature of it would give a bit of body to the Limestone powder and the powder would dull its bright colour, and boy did it work, the whole terrain ended up with différent layers such as wind and water, plus lumpy rock layers etc
Stage 2 The Squires
Having let the base coat properly dry over night, gave them an overall black wash with GW Nuln Oil, and painted the base Formala P Greatcoat grey, in hindsight and on the larger knights will do base 1st and Wash the lot.
Then I dry brushe the model Army Painter Plate Mail, before block painting MP paints Exile Blue and Army Painter Dragon Red, and a wash of GW Reikland Flesh on the Exhausts melter barrels and the fuel tank on base, then Washed wit Nuln Oil base hence earlier comment.
Base colours done, time for cup of tea, start detailing in part 3, gold is P3 Solid gold, and faces used Army painter Skeleton bone.
Been busy today with detailing and highlighting. On the Blue an Red areas , began highlightig by putting on a lighter blue shade , initially with a 20 year old citidel blue , found by a mates sister, no label on it! Then edging and raised surfaces GW Mccragge Blue, likewise with the Red , using P3 Khador red and then mixing Khador Red Highlight, The heads were highlighted wit P3 highlight white( very pale cream) the transparency on the cockpit cover was a base ghost grey by Vallejo and a P3 blue ink put on top
Stage 1 A knightly Throne
By that I mean the bases, Usually for me that is left as an afterthought after I have finished painting the Mini, but with these bad boys , figured I’d get grubby I finger prints all over the nicely painted livery if tried that.
I could have just done a base sand base to match the Hexon Terrain I flocked many years ago, or did I base them to match the Urban Terrain and new Club purchased Deep Cut Studios Mat brought at Games Expo (yes spotted by Eagle eyed Justin).
The decision had to be amended by the maxim ‘Wot I had got in the box’.
After a bit of rummaging found two tubs of Antenocitus Worshop Cork Ruins, Army Painter Battlefield Rocks and a tub of Resin Ruin bits from an unknown source on ebay.
With what I found I decided to do a compromise, bits of ruins and detritus, with bits of the desert encroaching.
I Put down a liberal layer of Thick Super Glue on the bases in places, then placed appropriate big bits of cork ruin in random areas on glued areas.
Then placed and sprinkled the Resin bits in gap and then finally sprinkled on the Battlefield rocks over the top and let it set for a bit.
To finish off I added some unused fuel tanks from finished Dust kits and spare weapon from the Mars Attack Robot for dramatic effect
I have now Sprayed them with GW Leadbelter, Not that normally would photo that as dont think anyone needs to watch paint dry, but the picture is more about the turntable underneath, Built by my Father before He died, not sure what he intended it for, and it has a rather novel turntable device, found it when clearing his work garage when he went into care.
House Terryn Begins
Well here I am with 1st project for my up coming 60th.
Well it has to start with big stompy robots, and lets start with the Glorious Imperial Knights.
Been buying the original Knight models when seen them on offer and now with the release of Forgebane and the codex, decided to let rip the Dogs of Whatever. Did think about doing a Lance of Freeblades but decided on House Terryn led by King Tybolt, partly because they renowned Aliies of the Raven Guard, another ongoing project , but also because they were not red, yellow or off white!
We have the Old Kings Knight Warden, a n other Knight Crusader, a new Castellan Model and two Armigers from Forgebane.
I have one more Knight to build but as he will be a Freeblade , possibly ‘The Knight with No Name’ or Bounty Hunter. which will be another project.
