These are some 15mm Kurasan Irish, they depict Irish warriors from the 16th century. There are also Gallowglass and ‘Red shanks’.

I am painting tow large armies for a customer at the moment, and these guys are just the start of that commission. There are around 400 more to do.

Great minis of a period of history too often overlooked.  😀  Most people “in this neighborhood of history” game 1600s Irish, part of the whole Cromwell thing 1649-53.

That is it. I live in a town that was formed after the castle was taken, here in Enniskillen N.Ireland. There are several old battle sites within 10 miles of my home. Even the Spanish sent troops to fight the English.

These minis are great. I wish there was more wargaming set in this period.

The Nine Years War, and in particular the battles of Yellow Ford and Clontibret are personal favorites from this period. It showed that axes still cleaved skulls no matter how modern the army. The anachronistic Gallowglas have always been like muscle-bond Irish samurai for me. Impressively deadly upclose, but ultimately no match for gunpowder.
