Love this series, Romain! I do wish the sections would be a little longer, as waiting weeks between each is nearly painful.
I did have a couple questions:
1. What sort of clay or putty did you use for the base and how was it formed?
2. Do you tend to use complimentary colors on your palette as you’ve done here? If so, how do you make them work with metallics for bits like swords and armor? Does that influence the kind of armor you decide upon?

Thanks for your viewership and your questions ! 🙂 The scheduling of the parts for this tutorial was bumpy because a lot happened lately at BoW studio (moving, and so on) on top of everything that usually happens near christmas (releases, holidays, etc.)… Such things always stretch the wait between episodes, I’m afraid, but it doesn’t happen all the time. I think these tutorials are really brilliant actually, cause they don’t just say, “do it like this – do it like that.” It’s actually like a kind of intelligent discussion is going on, giving you different options and techniques for doing something and the reasons why or the pros and cons of a certain technique versus another. It’s not just a closed minded “DO IT LIKE THIS” sort of thing. It really makes you think and use your intelligence rather than treat you like an idiot who’s never seen a paint brush or pot of paint.
