Sam joins Victoria to talk about an array of games from CMON. First up is their in-depth Game of Thrones miniatures games (of which you can find several Let’s Plays on our site). But Sam also gets to see three of their newer titles on the show floor: Dragon Castle, Gizmos and Way of the Panda.

I would have loved to been able to get on board with the Song of Fire and Ice kickstarter, some lovely minis and interesting sounding game-play/campaign play. Sounds like I am going to have to say good bye to some older less played games and invest in some new CMON experiences. 😀
Also as this is the first games day video I have watched it was great to see Sam aka @dracs hosting the interview – go Sammy! 🙂
While dragon castle looks interesting i fear the set-up time.
I do like the look of gizmos, and my first look at the ott (takes me back to Chris Tarrant) branding, very nice.
How many dumplings can a Panda eat on its Way?
Gizmos looks like an interesting little game. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it later this year.

Seriously though, there are NOT enough games about Pands!
Way of the Panda is a must buy for me.
Last week we were talking about a Mahjong type game and now here is one, looks like fate has come knocking on my door.
I grew up playing the proper Maj-Jong game (think Rummy card game with tiles) and its ‘twittering of the sparrows’ (tile shuffle), building the walls (making the deck) and calling out your discard tiles… “7 bamboo… Red dragon… East wind… 3 Characters… Flower spirit”.
So using those tiles for a screen based solitaire game always felt like a barstardisation of a game I love, so barstardising it even further into a multiplayer version just feels wrong.
But I like abstract games so should get off my high wall of tiles and give it a chance.
Pandas give me the excuse to buy the game ‘for my panda obsessed daughter’… knowing she’ll never play it and it’ll end up in my collection…

Dragon Castle looks like a game my missus would love. Hopefully it comes out before her birthday and I got that problem solved ?
