Spartan and Modiphius Summon Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish Game
December 22, 2013 by dracs
You read that title right people, next year Spartan Games and Modiphius are joining forces to bring us a WWII skirmish game with a Lovecraftian twist. Next Spring we shall see the rise of the Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish Game.
The game itself will apparently be taking a form similar to Spartan Games' existing skirmish game Dystopian Legions and will see the release of faction box sets to build upon the Achtung! Cthulhu miniatures range which Modiphius funded on Kickstarter, as well as a full colour rule book.
This is an exciting new addition to the Achtung! Cthulhu game and it is particularly good to see Spartan Games involved in it as well. Definitely something to look forward to in the coming year.
Thanks to elvar for telling us about this.

This looks very cool. I liked the RPG but it’s too much of a time commitment for me (I’d be “that guy” who never showed up around exam time and assignment deadlines). A skirmish game is just the excuse to tip a load of Deep Ones onto the painting desk 🙂
If its based on Dystopian Legions then no way, an awful over-complex, difficult to implement set of rules.
I’m surprised at that. I’ve got a couple of DL starters but have never managed to have a game. I’ve played a fair few games of Uncharted Seas though and that’s a very straightforward set of rules.
But…but…I don’t want to start another skirmish game.
But I love everything Lovecraft…
Have no idea how DL plays. If what hithero says is true and they are terrible I could resist. If they were to tweak them to make for an easier, fun game than there is no way I could resist.

I have to agree 100%! Really want Cthulhu miniature game, but have way too many games going as is! Why must companies keep putting out awesome things!! Arrrggghh!!
